I've been on the virgin atlantic website to try and retrieve my booking and it won't bring it up :scared1: is this because it is too far in advance of our holiday:confused3. So how far in advance will we be able to locate the booking so we can book our seats?

Have you booked direct with Virgin Atlantic or with Virgin holidays?

Virgin Atlantic make (as most airlines do) their seating plans and booking available about 330 days from the date of your return flight. Before that you cannot see any seat plan

However, Virgin holidays as a Travel broker/Agent can ytake your booking and allocate against their future allotment of seats more than 330 days out, but cannot send any data to virgin atlantic until 330 days return.

I have heard that Virgin holidays are holding back even longer and that some people have been told they cannot request seats until close to ytheir departure date

One other thing. you cannot book your seat, you can request it, but it is only a request and can and in many cases will change before your flight

Obi Wan is correct you may have to wait if you have booked site through either of these methods. We have had the same problem but once the dates were 330 in advance of our return date home we could access the site without any problems. We just had to wait and read some trip reports and dining reviews in the mean time. If you still cannot access the the site after this time there may be a fault with the website and you may need to call them.

I have heard that VH can't go on manage my booking till 14 days before depature date now.:confused3 not sure if thats accurate though.

I've booked through VH and can get onto VA manage my booking - we don't go for 99 days. (Would it make sense if we couldn't get on once we're as close as 14 days?)

who knows with virgin, I was told they don't allow VH to access the booking till 14 days before.:confused3 I was able to access my booking that I had with VH however the booking was made before this supposed changed. I have rebooked with VA now though.

We booked last May, so that could be the reason I can gain access.
