I love this! I always stayed off-site until this year! Growing up, my family would always rent a house which is a GREAT way to spend money, and I will continue to recommend that option for families with small children, families on a budget, and families taking a lengthy holiday or not spending much time at Disney.

My mom and I stayed at Boardwalk Inn earlier this month, and it was wonderful! I really enjoyed checking out the restaurants at other resorts.

I agree with the OP that you should really try to stay on-site at least once, more if you can.
