got a great rate at Wilderness Lodge. Dec. 6-11, Courtyard view-$189.00 including tax. The Disney Club discount saved us over $400.00!

I was trying to hold out for AP discounts, but couldn't stand the wait any longer.:( I've been tied up in knots for weeks now.

The only thing available was Courtyard, by the way, so anyone who has a Disney Club card and is interested, might want to consider making a move.

At the end of the call I did ask the CM if they had done away with AP discounts, and she said NO! and then added that it would be no problem to apply that to my room only ressies when they come out.

If AP's don't come out, you may want to consider joining AAA for your next trip, their room discounts are the same as Disney Club. They have discounts for Universal too. They have other nice travel perks, like personalized maps and hotel catalogs by state. Plus if your car gets stuck...

DebbieB,
You read my mind! I just got off the phone with my Dad who wanted to know something they could get me and DH for Christmas, and I told him AAA memberships!

That's great that they have the same discounts as the Disney Club, I didn't even realize that. I'm sure it will be nice to have all the other benefits they offer as well, but there's just something about having that DISNEY CLUB card with the picture of Mickey and Walt on it!:(
I've been a member for 11 years, and it's just sad that it's coming to an end.

I've got a question for you. Does every member of the family have to be a AAA member?
We have an 11 year old, and a 4 year old, do they have to be members as well as DH and I?

Me TOO!

My sentiments exactly. We were members of (actually our family through my mother's employer) the "Magic Kingdom Club" and now with my own family the Disney Club. This has literally saved us tens of thousands of dollars! We visit two-three times per year on site and have used it for rooms, tickets, discounts on food and purchases...etc..

We have always had AP's so recently we have been using this for the room discount. waiting...waiting...waiting....

I had a Wilderness Lodge Courtyard room booked using the DC discount and my total was different from yours per night. courtyard room is 250-15%=213X11.5% tax=237. How did you get such a great rate using the Disney Club discount? I would really like to know. Maybe they are not giving me the full discount.

Thanks for your help!!

I just got a quote from Disney Travel for Port Orleans Riverside. The DC discount was more than I thought it would be. $642.24 down to $545.92 for four nights. I was really thinking about staying off property, but it's so hard to break the habit! :)

Only drivers would be added as members. For the room discount, I believe only the person whose name is on the reservation has to be a member.

I have NO idea!?!
I admit I was shocked myself. I had planned on booking standard view, but neither it nor woods view was available, so she quoted me $947.00 for 5 nights, Courtyard view with the Disney Club discount, and $887.00 for Standard view at rack rack.
Needless to say I jumped on the discount. I can't figure out how the rate was even lower than I had expected myself???

Were your reservations for a different "season"?

My dates are December 5-12, the same timeframe as the OP. That would value season. Confusing.

OK......I got paranoid and called back to check.
Spoke with a different CM this time, and confirmed the same thing.... total for 5 nights, Courtyard view, $947.50.

I hope somebody else comes up with this rate also! I still feel a little uneasy. I may have to drive them crazy and call back yet a third time to confirm.

:(
Too Late! I called back AGAIN , cause I just had the feeling something couldn't be right, and guess what....I was right.:(

The CM that made my reservation must have accidently put in Dec. 6-10 instead of 6-11, so the rate I got was for 4 nights instead of the 5 nights I asked for!
She even said 5 nights!

Oh well, at least I'll still save about $200.00, which I'm willing to pay so I'm still keeping the reservtion, but now I'm back to hoping for AP rates again......SIGH.........

Sorry for any confusion I caused everybody.:(

What's that saying...If it's too good to be true......

****** Edited to note that the misinformation from the 2nd call was not the fault of the CM. All I asked her to confirm was the price of $947.00, and that it was for Courtyard view. Didn't even think to question the dates!
