Man complained about Ride before incident

Seems there was a complaint filed before the incident with the Son of the Beast at King's Island park in Cincinnati.
The man in the interview says he told park officials that something was wrong with the ride.

I wonder why they didn't act on his complaint? Maybe they just didn't take it seriously.

It doesn't sound like anyone was seriously injured though so that's good.

Interesting, I didn't hear about the Son of Beast accident, but why the Dept. of Agriculture? Do they oversee amusement parks? Seems strange.

Anyway, if I was him and truly concerned, telling a ride attendant probably wasn't enough, I'd go to the front desk with it and explain that I'd been on the ride that many times before without problems.

It could be...don't they handle fairs and such...maybe theme parks was just added.

I had expected to read that he noticed some splintering of the wood.

Sounds like he just got jostled up a bit. If they had had more complaints, that would warrant an investigation--but one person complaining they got banged up.

The Ohio Department of Agriculture has an Amusement Ride Safety Division, so that would be the reason for his contacting them--that was the right place to go.

too bad they didn't listen! that is the part that is aggrevating. Maybe Cedar Fair will get a price break on purchasing the park?

I'm not sure but I believe he said he'd ridden the ride 12 or 13 TIMES, not YEARS.

ETA: Nope, you're right, he said 10 or 12 times in 12 or 13 years. What a KOOK!
