I have never had this happen so often at Disney before.

This is Day 3 for us of our trip. We have had four rides now that stated anywhere from 30-50 minutes LESS than we had to actually wait.

I think those are fairly significant errors. I can understand 10-15 min. now and then, but 30-50 is pretty big.

Frustrating.

Happened to us in December too. Wait time said 30 minutes for the fairies and we waited an hour. Wait time 40 minutes for TSM and again- an hour. It is frustrating. I thought maybe we just had bad timing and maybe got there a couple of minutes before they changed the boards. Hope your luck gets better!

Happened to us on Soarin in Sept too.The characters I never listen to what they say the wait time is, because it always seems like we get near the front of the line and the characters go on a 15 min break.

We are here and the times are not exact but within 15min and usually less waiting time than expected.

I think usually if the wait time is less than advertised, that is caused by someone not giving the CM the red lanyard thing like they were asked to. Someone turns one in, then the next person forgets( or thinks it's a souveneir lol ), then the third person with one registers a longer wait than actually exists. That's how the wait time is estimated after all.

OOPPPSS...sorry..I read the OP backwards!!! Mine makes completely no sense!!

We went to Disney last year and the only thing we waited in line for was Dumbo because we were new and went the wrong way to get there according to what TGM says, and EPCOT character spot. We waited about 40 minutes to an hour if not longer for the character spot but it was ok because we saw what we wanted and to get all those pictures at one time was worth it. We got to each ride at the right time according to TGM and used fast passes where we could. We only waited 10 or maybe 15 minutes at most for every other ride and some we didn't wait at all. We road Soarin at least 3 times and I think toy story mania 3 or 4 times. We saw all of the 3-D movies at least twice if not 3 times. We even had fast passes left over that we didn't use. So anyway, I am not sure how accurate the wait times were because they really didn't pertain to us. I am hoping and assuming it will be that way next time we go too.

Since the only time we can go is during spring break I just automatically expect a long wait for everything. :sad1:

I have found that posted wait times when I go are usually higher than actual wait times. :confused3

That has happened to me before too.

I don't mind a few min. give or take (up to 15), but Monday it was just silly. It said 50 min. wait for Test Track. It was 80!!!!!! Then they said 30 min. wait for Space Mountain and it was over 75!!!!!!

Today has been much better. I don't think we waited more than 20 min. for anything and we were in Magic Kingdom.

Well, then, I am glad you were not on the rides we were on at the times we were on.

Although I will say that yesterday was fairly accurate for us and today was great.

Sun. and Mon. were the problems on some of the rides.

We have had this happen often in our January trips. I think it's because large Brazilian tour groups get into the line, a huge group at once, and throw off the average. 2 years ago at Kali River the wait time posted was 10 minutes and we were in line with the singing/chanting Brazilians for over an hour. Youngest son still brings it up in protest. :rotfl2:

YES! They are really HUGE groups!

Today they were at Hollywood Studios....I missed the mark on that one....park to AVOID if Fantasmic is that night.

We did get to go on Toy Story and it only took 25-30 min. But we headed over to TOT and RRC and man oh man! There were Brazillian groups just standing all over the area and we couldn't even get over to where we needed to be. Both rides had about 60 min. wait times, but with those large groups getting in line I thought it might take longer, so we bailed.

I am a bit shocked at how crowded it is this week. I read that the lines were at a 4 level, but I am finding it mostly to be at 7's at the lowest in my opinion.

We are here for another week, so hopefully things will calm down next week.

Last year we came the 2nd week of January and I think we may have waited 20 minutes at the longest for anything.

Prior to this last trip we were always pleasantly surprised when wait times were less than what was stated. We would wait 10 minutes for a 20 minute wait sign, etc... But this last trip in Dec. was awful.

It was especially bad for us when a 20 minute wait in line for Honey Pots turned into 45 minutes. DS has autism and sensory issues but we thought we could talk him through 15 minute wait. At 20 minute wait we could see he was starting to get agitated, at 30 minutes people around us started to realize there was a problem by 40 minutes everyone in line knew there was a problem. By the time we got on the ride the CM at the head of the line was very rude. Because it was so crowded in the lines we could not get him out without dragging him - he is a large child and we can't carry him anymore. We rode the ride but we left immediately after.

We found the opposite over New Year's weekend posted 40-60 minute waits were only 20-40 minutes.
