I had a mammo on Tuesday ad today she called and wanted to know if they could make an appt to see me again in a few weeks to re-do one side that seemed asymetrical.

I said I couldn't wait "a week or two" and could I have it done today? And she said no but if I came early in the a.m. before they opened officially, they could get me in.

I've never been called back before and I'm so thankful that they could get me in tomorrow so I don't have to worry. But I'm still a little worried.

Anyone ever been called back in before?

Yes, I have been called back in. And as much as people told me not to panic, of course, I did. (Because I had, had a previous lump and had to have it biopsied.) It seems that when they took the picture, the way the breast was lying they thought they saw something. In the end, everything was ok.

Try not to worry; most of the time, it is nothing. :)

yes...and it WAS nervewracking...I had to wait a week...but outcome was fine...I kinda knew something was up when after the intial imaging, the tech came back with the *spatula* thingy, to press even harder :headache:...but it worked out, calcifications were the culprit, at least that is what I was told... :goodvibes and:hug: to you too! Positive thoughts!

The odds are highly in your favor that it will be nothing.

yes, I have been called back. Yes I was quite panicked and had to go see a surgeon.
this was about 10 years ago. I am going tomorrow morning for my annual.

I know many people who have been called back in.. And the fact that they were willing to put it off for a couple of weeks is a very good sign..

I'm so glad they were able to squeeze you in tomorrow though - so you don't have to worry for the next two weeks..

Good luck!

Yes! I have been called back in once. It was all OK. No worries.

I have been called back many times. If they were really worried, they would never have let you leave. At my last one they wouldn't let me leave until I told them I already had an appointment for an ultrasound. That time it was scary because it was the first time they had come back in immediately.

Yes I have gotten a call back for an ultrasound. Everything was fine. I also have a couple of friends who were called back and there was no problem with them as well.

Many times. At one point I was shocked when I called for the results and they said normal, come back in a year! I had "dense tissue" at the time and they wanted to do an ultrasound to see better. Now that they have digital equipment I haven't been called back.

Yes, I got called back after my very first mammo ever. I had to have another mammo and an ultrasound. You can only imagine how horrible the wait was since I had already had cancer (different type) in the past. Thankfully it wasn't cancer, I did still require surgery though.

I get called back nearly every time. Every time it's heart stopping. Every time it's nothing. Praying the same holds true for you! :goodvibes

I AM FINE! the radiologist read it while I waited.:flower3: I am so thankful I didn't have to wiat for results.

Thanks to you guys who responded made me feel better.

Yup-same with me. Now I have an ultrasound too.
Good luck, hang in there and I know you will worry, but try not to:hug:

Most call backs are nothing from what I've heard. The four ladies I know with breast cancer all were rushed back in after their initial mammograms were read. I think if they are willing to wait a few weeks they aren't too concerned.

I have bladder cancer. I have learned that it is when doctors start calling you at nine o'clock at night that things are not looking good!

Glad the OP's case turned out to be nothing. I can sympathize with her - the waiting for results is so hard.
