Mammogram call

I just received a letter from the hospital saying that they'd decided to request the films from the old place I went to so that they could compare. Great. I guess that it's good that they are being careful but it's been over a week and I'm still waiting.

As stated previously i work in an internal medicine practice. It is routine to ask for films from an outside practice to accompany you to a mommogram for the first time at our facility. I sure am quite certain they want them to compare the old films to the current films. Be them regular mammograms or digital mammograms.

By the way the mammogram tech this morning could not have been more wonderful today.! she made a point of checking in with me 2-3 times stating that there was only one radiologist available to read. And she was covering a ct scan that was happening and an event in the ER. I only had to wait 15 minutes for the wet read. SHE WAS WONDERFUL as she explained everything. I am definately going to get her supervisors name and write a leter to have put in her personel file!

Thanks for that information! They never told me that which kind of surprises me. They did ask for the name of the old facility but never said anything else. Then the letter said that the radiologist had recommended the comparison so it sounded a little gloomy. Maybe it is just routine and maybe they don't do it in a logical way. I just emailed the nurse practitioner to find out more.

It's great that you had a a nice person. That makes these tests so much easier.
