I have just watched mamma mia for the first time and to be quite honest it was ok but i was a bit dissapointed after all the hype about it what does everyone else think?

I saw it at the cinema and loved it.

DD got the DVD for Christmas but we haven't watched it at home yet.

I bought it as a present for my DD's 14th birthday and we all loved it. :thumbsup2

I thought it was pretty good, but I had seen the stage show a few weeks before and It wasn't a patch on that.

I loved it but think it is better to watch it on the big screen

saw it for the first time over cristmas and I loved it :goodvibes

I watched it on the plane to WDW & liked it. I got the dvd for christmas.

I also bought it for my sister as one of her presents.....but she got two!!! I can't take mine back as I got it from Woolies :headache:

I saw it at the cinema when it 1st came out & my cousin got it for me on dvd, I loved it. I would love to see the stage show too.

You should Nikki, the westend show is fab!!!! :thumbsup2

I've seen it on the big screen, airline small screen and home TV and it's definitely a film for the big screen. I actually wanted to clap after songs like it was onstage :rotfl: I loved it and the music, a nice feel good film :)

I loved it on the stage, in the cinema and at home when I watched it yesterday. :goodvibes
What I did notice about the film version is that it made me cry a lot more. I think Meryl Streep plays it so well and looks so anguished at times that I was bawling with her (Chiquitita :sad1: and then The Winner Takes it All  )

I saw it twice at the cinema and got the DVD for Christmas and watched it on Saturday.

I absolutely love it and agree with the last poster about crying everytime!

i loved it,when i seen it,at the cinema.a great feel good movie!
it was also one of the choices,on the plane coming home from florida.i fell asleep & i was woken up,by my 8 year old grandaughter, wanting to know what, dot dot dot meant:rotfl2:
tracy

I'm in the minority then. I really didn't enjoy it at all. Found it really cringeworthy, like watching your parents dancing at a wedding, thinking please make them stop! Would not watch it again - ever. :scared:

Sara. :)

DH and I lOVED, LOVED, LOVED the stage show and saw it twice, once on Broadway and once in Las Vegas. We thought Carol Linnea Johnson as Donna was fab, (she was in both shows) but Meryl did well in the film :)

Claire ;)

It was interesting to me that my daughter thinks the young girl is the main character, but to me it is Donna and her middle-aged love story that is the main theme of the film. The youngsters in it are just filler.;)

Of course I am at an age where my children would be begging me to stop dancing at a wedding. :rotfl:
