Or neither...

We will be traveling with a large group in two weeks. I have made as many adrs as I dare to and still allow the group flexibility. It would be a huge treat for my kids to have spaghetti - a meatball would send them to the moon (I am a protein and veggies type of mom)! I was wondering which of these would be better for families and would be most likely to have walk in availability. We have most of our dinners planned out, but since we are dvc members, the lunches are a bit looser since I know some people will wind up back at our villa for lunch or will just a few snack during the afternoon.

I seem to remember that people loved or hated one or the other, but of course I cannot remember specifics AND I know the restaurants change back and forth in the quality a lot.

The fact that they are in different locations doesn't bother me, we'll be at all the parks and just wanted to offer the kids one chance at a pasta meal for lunch since they will be eating in our villa most nights while adults take turns going out for dinner.

I like Tony's. I like the atmosphere there and the Lady and the Tramp motif. I just don't know if you can just walk in and get seated, though.

I would definately not choose Mama's. The last time we ate there the food was terrible. But if you want to get into Tony's, I would really call fast for an ADR.

We have enjoyed meals at both. We do prefer lunchtime at Tony's rather than dinner time. We have eaten at Mama Melrose the last three years in a row for dinner and have had excellent meals and service.

We also have had good meals at both. I think I prefer Tony's, but either way I wouldn't count on being able to walk in. If you can, great, but don't be disappointed if you can't

When we were there recently, we just walked into Tonys and requested 2 tables, we were seated within 10 minutes.

We tried both during our last trip and liked Tony's food and service better.

Hmmmm...more of a toss up than I'd thought.

I do have adrs everywhere else, this is just an extra place "in case." We generally have some luck in January with walk ins, but I won't be heartbroken if we can't get in.

Tony's Town Square Restaurant will be closed for refurbishment January 5-27, 2008. Copied from another site.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.
