Honest opinions, please? Out of all my ADRs, this is the only one I am considering changing. Please tell me what you thought of the place if you have eaten there. Thanks!:)

Mama Melrose's was SO good last time I was there during March 2007. We were on the dining plan and each got an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Everything was delicious and we all loved it! Don't change it!

I personally didn't care for the food all that much, but the service and atmosphere were great! I had the chicken parmesan and the chicken breading was LOADED with herbs which I don't enjoy. Everything seemed to have basil in it which I hate! My favourite part of the meal was dessert. I had the warm chocolate lava cake which was delish! DBFF however was quite happy with her meal.

If I were you, I would give it a try. You never know until you try! And most people aren't as picky about their food as I am ;) Have a great trip! :)

We have always enjoyed our meals at Mama Melrose and had terrific service. After too many visits to Sci-Fi and Prime Time when the kids were small and not impressed with Brown Derby and detest Hollywood & Vine, it is the only place at the Studios we eat anymore. A lot of people will disagree with me as I disagree with them about H&V. I suggest you check the menus and if you see something you like, give it a try.

I go sometimes with my family and really have never had a bad experience. I always get the pepperoni flatbread and find it absolutely delicious!!! And the tiramisu is heaven for dessert. I think they also have a pitcher of sangria which my family and i love after coming from in a hot day!!!

We dine at Mama Melrose's on just about every trip and are always pleased with our meals and service. It looks like you have a lot of replies from fans here. This is one place that people either seem to love or hate. I say try it! :goodvibes

We love Mama Melrose's. The food is delicious and the service is excellent! The waiter we had last time was very friendly and accomodating. I'd definitely recommend it, but only you will know when you get there, as everyone likes different things. Its usual Italian food but its well made and presented.

We had heard such bad things about Mama Melrose's before we went -- but we liked what we saw on the menu, so we went anyway. I'm glad we did! The food was very good (especially the pork tenderloin and the 4-cheese flatbread) and the lava cake was really, really good. :thumbsup2 The service was the best part -- we were well taken care of, even though the place was packed. Give it a shot!

I have been three times on the last three consecutive trips. I can highly recommend the Wood Grilled Shrimp for Lunch or the Wood Grilled Chicken for Dinner. YUM!!! The Artesian Breads and Spreads are a great appetizer also. I prefer lunch to dinner. Things seem fresher, but that's just me. I have also tasted the Pepperoni Flatbread and the Chicken Parm which were pretty good.

We have always had a good meal at Mama's...only once was it a bit noisy, but certainly not up to the noise levels of the other eateries. Brown Derby used to be one of the best, but I understand the quality has gone down considerably.

One thing I like about Mama's is that is out of the main traffic areas and during the lower times of the year you can even get in without ADR's - just a walk in.

We enjoyed it - much to our surprise, actually. The food is decent, but the atmosphere is terrific. Go, you'll enjoy it.

We dine at Mama Melrose almost every trip and always enjoy it. :thumbsup2

I've only been once, many years ago, and liked it. We're going back this time but we're on the basic DDP, so no appetizers. Do they serve bread (complimentary) with your meal?

I know I can order an app OOP, of course, but we normally don't eat dessert, so app - entree - dessert would be too much for us. But a bit of bread to start would hit the spot :) .

Yes they serve bread w/ olive oil

I have to agree with most people here, the food is pretty good, but the atmosphere and service are great!! My DH got the steak and I got a chicken pasta with artichoke hearts and white sauce- Yum! We also got a carafe of sangria- this was also tasty!

We really enjoyed the food, although our server was horrible. We will be returning this year.

We've always sort of groaned thinking about the DHS food options. We like BD, of course, but it's expensive. We had a bad experience at PT Cafe - if you're in the wrong room at the wrong table, you stare at a blank wall the whole time. The ABC Commissary had us sorely disappointed.

We gave MM a try to find SOMETHING...and loved it! We'll be going back this year right before Fantasmic. Highlights: 1/2 carafe of Sangria (which was 2 glasses each for DH and I), and the tomato mozarella appetizer. Yum...I can taste it right now!!!

Enjoy!
