Mama Melrose's - How is it?

DH and I have dined at MM four times and have always enjoyed it...we've also had some of the best service there of any WDW restaurant (including CG).

In April we took DH's parents there. They are first generation "off the boat" Italian and they loved it.

It isn't anything special and WDW is filled with special restaurants. The atmosphere is so so, the food is ok it's nothing to rave about if you like Olive Garden then you will be fine here. It's not memorable in any way but if you need a cool place to sit down for a meal this will get it done for you.

I am 100% Italian...live in an Italian neighboorhood with wonderful resturants ..in a state know for great food (especially italian). I won't eat at Olive Garden. we have eaten at MM several times and have always enjoyed it. is it top of the line gourmet Boston/RI/ new york fine dining...no. It is very good and good service...don't think you can go wrong here

Appetizers (calamari) were outstanding. Entrees were horrible. We had the Penne alla vodka and the veal. No flavor at all. Dessert -I had the ricotta cheesecake. This was the best dessert all week and I would go back just for that cheesecake! DH had ice cream (you can't go wrong on that).

Service was very good. We didn't wait long to be seated.

ALWAYS a must do for us! If you go during the week for lunch, ask for Barbara, she will make your visit wonderful!!:)

We thought the food was good, and the service excellent. The best thing about it, however, was that it was raining at the time, so some of the streetmosphere characters were hanging out there. DD7 leaned too far back in her chair and fell down. Immediately one of the characters, Flavio Fellini, ran over and offered her the job of stuntwoman in his next film. He stayed to talk with her (and us) and made sure nothing was wrong. The restaurant staff also hovered to make sure everything was fine.

That made it a really special experience. (And DD7 wasn't hurt, btw. I swear, she bounces.)

3 of my friends and I had a later lunch there in Feb. 08. Food was good and the service was great. The flat bread pizzas seem to be the way to go. 2 of us had them and loved them. One had a chicken caesar salad and loved it and one had pasta and was not impressed.

It is a nice quite place which is welcome at that part of the park. ( It always seems like a mad house in that corner of the park for some reason. )

All in all I found the food good and the peace and quiet welcome.
