Mama Melrose's at MGM? Good or Bad?

Must do list each trip to MGM,we have always had good food and service in 20+ trips. Some hate it though.:wave2:

We're doing the Backstage Magic tour on May 4. Lunch at Mama Rosa's is included. I'm really looking forward to it as we've never eaten in that restaurant.

We ate at Mama Melrose last Sept. and really enjoyed our dinners. It was our second time eating here and we will be back in the future. We also tried Portobello Yacht Club at Downtown Disney in Sept. and really loved it, the food was fantastic. If you want to go somewhere different give it a try.

I have to say I was pretty disappointed in Mama Melroses. We both ordered the Spicy Sausage with pasta- and the sauce tasted really sour. I didn't say anything to the waiter, because he was being so nice to our DD. we did enjoy the bread and sauce they bring to the table- that was very tasty!
Maybe we ordered the wrong thing- but I just don't think I would go back.

Take this with a grain of salt...but we ate there in 96 and weren't very impressed. I have tried hollywood and vine, 50's prime time cafe and I thought they were better. I love Italian Food and I would say we would have chosen another place. Just remember though that was back in 96... Things could have changed.

Thanks for more reviews! :) We're still pretty undecided about whether or not to try Mama's. There are already so many good restaurants at WDW, we always end up wanting to return to our favorites. The biggest problem is we loved the character lunch at Hollywood & Vine - the food & characters were great! Now there is nowhere we really want to eat at MGM. We may just get lunch outside the park on our MGM days. Thanks again! :)

To me, no restaurant really stands out as a must-do at MGM, but we recently tried Mama Melrose and I have to say it was pretty tasty. The flatbreads were definitely the best, and the other two dishes Fra Diavalo and Chicken Parm were good, but not the best dishes I had ever had. The restaurant had a neat decor going on, kind of a jumble of things Italian with things of California and the west coast.

Give it a try, it certainly isn't bad, and hey, maybe you'll love it!

Oh, I forgot that we also got Calamari as an appetizer which was very good, and so what the bread with the pesto and sun-dried tomoatoes that they offer.

Thanks for all the posts. We are going to WDW for the first time in June and I got the Fantasmic dinner package. MM was the only one of the three restaraunts offered that looked like it had food I would like.
