Mama Melrose

We just ate at Mama Melrose for lunch today. It was a 1:30 ressie and it was fairly crowded in the lobby but we were seated quickly and there were lots of open tables. The park was not crowded today. We did the fantasmic package so we all got an appetizer, entree, drink and dessert for $34.99 (I think, it was right around that). Our party had ceasar salad, regular salad (with gorganzola, dried cherries and walnuts, yummy), and calamari. They all got 2 thumbs up. For entrees several of us had the chicken parmigiana and liked it a lot, the red sauce was very tasty. Dh had the fish (can't remember the name of it) and said it was really good. My sister had the strip steak and said it and the potatoes were very yummy. My niece had her chicken parmigiana 'deconstructed' with everything separate and LOVED it (this is huge, she is soo picky). Then for dessert we got it to go (too full and heading back to the resort). We got a bunch to try. The panna cotta was great texture and looked super, it was very amaretto flavored which was good if you like amaretto. The cannoli cake was yummy and the cheesecake was great too. The girls (13 & 10) got the light up tinkerbell cup thingies which cost extra. Dd didn't like that the punch was fizzy so dh drank that for her and she had water but will keep the cup. All in all it was pricy but very yummy. Our waiter Walter was very attentive and friendly (slow in bringing the check but we had him split it and the manager screwed that up which made it take longer). All in all I'd definitely go again.

We've always enjoyed the food there, but have had consistently slow service, even in non-crowded conditions. Glad you enjoyed everything...sounds yummy!

Thanks for the review. It's one of the places we haven't tried yet. Also, thanks for the heads up about the punch being fizzy. This was something that I was considering getting for our dd at one place next trip. She's not big on fizzy either. Do you know if it's fizzy everywhere, or if some places it's more of a regular extra fruity lemonade?

I haven't seen it anywhere else so I don't know if there are other options. To be safe I'd ask the server. You also might be able to substitute something just to get the cup etc.

Our family ate at MM a couple of trips ago to take advantage of the Fanstasmic passes, but in truth although we really liked the atmosphere, we weren't big fans of the food.

Perhaps we'll give it another shot next time around!

This was our favorite meal in Feb. We had the Fantasmic Package also, good seats IMHO.

Both DH and I had the flatbread pizza, it was better than anything we can find here at home.

We did not find the service to be to slow or to rushed.

This is the only resturant from out last trip, that is on the "to do" list for next year.

We did this with the Fantasmic package last Monday, May 9 on the dining plan. Quite honestly I was expecting egg noodles with ketchup but we were very pleasantly surprised with how good this restaurant is. Both the food and the service were great.

Glad to hear good things! We are going there for the first time next month for lunch! We usually do Sci Fi but it was booked and none of the others appealed to me. We have done Hollywood and Vine but I didn't want a buffet (although DS 13 would probably like it better)
