Mama Melrose

I have been looking to see if I could find any reviews. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Trying to decide if I should book it for Fantasmic. Any help would be greatly appreciate it!!

We've done the Fantasmic package with Mama Melrose. Fairly standard Italian restaurant. We thought the food was good, but not great. Good enough that we will probably eat there again when we go back to DHS.

While you will get differing opinons on ALL restaurants, this is a "must do" everytime we're at DHS. I absolotely LOVE the wood-grilled tuna (dinner) and the salmon was good (lunch). DH has always enjoyed whatever he got. We've tried most of the appetizers and flatbreads and also found them quite good.
Have you checked out the menus to see if they appeal to you?

We've eaten at MM four times in the past. The last time we ate there will be the last time we eat there! It was HORRIBLE! I ordered the chicken parm and the sauce was nothing more than tomato paste slathered on the chicken. The chicken was tough and the meal was absolutely terrible. This "dining" experience was this past June 2009 and the last time we ate there prior to that was December 2008. I had the chicken parm then and it was really good. Don't know what happened in six months, but everything about the meal was terrible except the server. He was great. My wife had the salmon, the same thing she had in December, and it was just bland. Anyhow, if I was doing the Fantasmic package I would go with the Brown Derby. It's more entitlements (if you're on the DDP) but it's worth it.

We did MM for lunch last year. As stated, it is good standard Italian fare. I would recommend it.

We have ressies for this restaurant. I hope it's good! We tried to get in last year and couldn't.

We ate there August 27th. We got the Fantasmic dinner package for 5 pm. We had 3 people in our group and everyone gets to order an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. My husband got the antipasto. It was really tasty. I got the Mozzarella and tomatoes. The tomatoes were cold and mushy, but the mozzarella was great. Our daughter got the minestone. She enjoyed it. I got the Chicken Pipette. This was a huge serving and above average. My daughter got the 4 cheese flatbread, which was horrible. The gongonzola was putrid and I'm a fan of blue cheese and gongonzola. They made her a plain cheese one. Desserts were ok. nothing spectacular.

Of course you shouldn't overreact to one person's one experience, but I'll tell you that during our recent trip where we had 8 TS meals, this was the only place where I was disappointed. More in the service (awful!) than the food, so let's just hope you get a different waiter.

Ate lunch there last week. Service was poor. I had the eggplant. I found it a bit on the dry side. Worse, the dish is prepared with slices of raw tomato. It appeared they used the usual tasteless supermarket version.
I would give it another shot, but it's not high on my list to revisit.

Mama Melrose has a few great options. It has great fried calamari, bruschetta, and I love the eggplant napolean. The gelato and tiramasu are pretty good too!

WE always go there when we visit DS!

We have dined here on just about every trip since 1995 and love it. The flat breads and penne alla vodka are wonderful. We just ate there last week and once again had a great meal.

I went to Mama Melrose's in March and it was pretty good. Got the Penne Alla Vodka which was tasty. They gave me alot and it was kinda rich so I couldn't finish it! Also had some Sangria (which was good) and a Blackberry Mojito (didn't like so much). I didn't see the mojito on the menu just now though... You should give it a shot!
