Which would you choose? Obviously, Mama Melrose would be easier (this will be our MGM day), but is it really that difficult to hop over to the World Showcase to eat? Would it be worth it? Is Alfredos that much better than Mama Melrose? It will just be DH and myself, no kids this trip.....help!

Love Mama Melrose. Havent eaten at the other but would highly reccommend that you get the Fantasmic dinner package from MM.

I have never eaten at Mama Melrose, but I can tell you that Alfredos is fabulous. I would recommend them whole-heartedly.

We ate at Alfredo's a few years ago and we didn't care for it. Not sure if it's changed since then but we felt rushed, crowded and thought the food was just ordinary for the price. However, we feel the complete opposite towards Mamma Melrose. It is quaint, the wait servers are pleasant and the food was very good (pizza is great!).

Although you can surely do the 2 parks in 1 night, I think you would be better off sticking to MM at MGM for the quality and convenience.

Have fun.

I would stay at MGM if I were you. I checked my Unofficial Guide for the average commute time between MGM and Epcot (I'm assuming you're using Disney transportation) and it's 28-37 minutes. And then you have to walk all the way to Italy to get to Alfredo's, and then wait for your table to be ready. It wouldn't be worth it to me. We ate there last year and I wasn't impressed. The food was o.k. but the service was not. We're trying Mama Melrose this year with the Fantasmic dinner package.

DH and I ate at MM on our Disneymoon last year. The food was pretty good. I really liked the restaurant itself. For some reason I just loved being in there! I really like the atmosphere! DH didn't much care for it though. The food wasn't terrible - we both think that the food at our local Macaroni Grill is much better than MM though. I don't think I would want to waste all that time commuting. Even if you take your own car, it's still taking away some of your touring time.
