Mama Melrose or Tony's?

There will be 8 adults and two small children. Which has the better Italian menu and ambiance?

We have not been to MM but plan to try it in June. We ate at Tony's last year and it was just OK....the food was very ordinary but the prices were high....I want to say DH got just a simple pasta dish and it was about $18.....I had eggplant and again, it was fine but nothing special....we live in an area that has outstanding Italian food, so maybe we are pickier than others.....I would put Tony's on par with a place like Olive Garden but pricier...HTH

Do Mama Melrose.

You will see on this board, many people have had very bad experiences with Tony's.

The food at Tony's is AWFUL! Service is marginal at best. We will never eat there again.

Mama Melrose is decent food. Reminds me of an Olive Garden. It is a nice atmosphere & decent food. Mama Melrose is a much better bet!

I was one of those who had a bad experience at Tonys. Also, Im not one to complain about the prices of WDW food (I usually think most restaurants are about what they would be in our area...and well worth it), but Tonys was the one place I can honestly say I felt was overpriced.

We have been to Mama Melrose 8 times in the past 10 years and always enjoy it. In fact Im making a special trip to MGM at dinner time on our next trip(1 park day is all we have) just to eat there. It will waste some time for us, but Im dying to have the Penne Alla Vodka there again.

I was leaning toward Mama Melrose as I have eaten there and enjoyed it. A few members of our party wanted to give Tony's a try but from these replies I'm going with my instinct and booking Mama's. I'll let you know how our dinner goes!

It's been 50/50 with me an Tony's - one marvelous time and one awful. Food ok andexpectedly expensive. We generally go Mama Melrose once each trip. The Olive Garden comparison is great. Food is better than Tony's.

It is on our must do list each trip to MGM always had good service and food.

I've never been to MM but had a horrible experience with both service and food at Tony's - stay away!
