mama melrose or tony's?

We have done MM 3 times, did MM and Tony's last trip in Nov. I can say without hesitation, Mama Melrose's. Their food is made to order. You can see the kitchen. Tony's is not. Less than 5 minutes after we placed or order, our food arrived. We also were very rushed. The food was decent (the bread was AMAZING!), but we prefer MM by far!

To add, we felt the same way about Tutto that we do about Tony's. Food is not made to order, service is rushed.

We went to Tony's during our last trip (never been to MM). Here are my thoughts:

Pros:
1. Great seating outside on the porch overlooking entrance to Main Street
2. They seated us quickly

Cons:
1. Food was just average - like something you could get back at home
2. Slow service

Happy Planning! :goodvibes

I have honestly not been to tonys in years but on my last trip to HS last week I have to say we tried MM. I had adr's for 1pm. I am not a hard to please person, but this was the worst meal I had. We arrived 15 mins early, was told there was a 25 min wait. We were fine with this. Within 5 mins they called us. We kind of looked at each other, but oh well. I was so less than impressed with service and food. It took them 1.5 hrs from start to finish, food was only luke warm at best. Waitress disappeared for like 20 mins at a time, and was not very attentive. We were on the DDP or I would have complained. Food was very overpriced. I do understand that maybe this was an off day, but I highly doubt I will go back. FWIW. I do have to say I assumed you couldn't really mess pasta up.. and MM came pretty close.
