I will be in Disney World in late May for a trip with my DH and our 4 year old DD. We are on the regular DDP. I have all of our reservations made, but can't decide where to eat on our HS day! I have a lunch reservation at 50's Prime Time and a dinner reservation at Mama Melrose. I don't want to pay OOP for one TS dinner, so which one should I choose! HELP! :)

We have not eaten at PTC but enjoy MM. We've been to MM several times and always had good food and service. The last time we were there was w/ a grand gathering and out of 14 meals, no complaints.

Which menu appeals to you more?

PTC is a great if you have a sense of humor. It really depends what you are looking for you in your meal. At PTC you are going to get entertainment.

At Mama Melrose's they have great food, but it is a typical Italian restaurant!

PTC would be my choice because I love seeing DFi stand in corner for not eating his veggies. lol

I would say 50s Prime Time Cafe. DH and I have eaten at both places several times and they both have great food, but we absolutely love PTC! The atmosphere is so fun and the service is very good. Every time we've eaten at MM the service was beyond terrible. Forgetting our drinks, forgetting our entrees. One time sat watching everyone else getting their food and finally our waitress admitted she forgot to put our order in. I realize this could happen anywhere, but we have never had good service there. I think your DD will like PTC the best too.

we really enjoy mama melrose! we have had 50's primetime, but we don't really like antics when we're trying to eat. it's just our preference. even as a child i was against it... so only you know your family. mama melrose has a great relaxing atmosphere and we've always had a great meal here!

We love italian food, but the atmosphere at 50s PT sounds fun! My DH is a big time jokester, so I think he would like it.

I have the same as you ... lunch at 50's and dinner at MM, and will only keep one. Hope we both make the right decision!

just beware, your 4 year old may not understand the humor. I know mine cried when her father and her uncle had to go stand in the corner.

It's her favorite restaurant now though. ;) She's 17. She wasn't traumatized.

We love 50's PT!! We go every trip. The food is good and it has a fun atmosphere. We have only been to MM once, but did not like it.

Prime Time hands down is fun and food great:cool1: on the other hand Mama Melrose was bad service and food not as good as fast food Fazoli's:scared1:

Both have reat food, but I would go with 50's Prime Time. It's a great atmosphere, and we had a great time!!! The chicken and tuna casserole are really good!!! And the PB&J shake is a MUST!!!

Sounds like you have answered your own question :thumbsup2

We enjoy both restaurants, but as has been mentioned, MM is just a nice Italian Restaurant, nothing very memorable. We like the food there, and have luckily not had probs others have mentioned... service was exceptional for us, but not unique in any way IMO

50's PT however, is an "experience" :)

Mama Melrose was very average like any Italian chain restaurant at home. But 50s Prime Time was absolutely delicious and fun! All our food was good, but the milkshakes are to die for.... Yes milkshake(s) -- I had 2... one with my meal and 1 for dessert to go! Probably the best milkshakes I've ever had, right on par with my all time favorite Dumsers milkshakes in Ocean City, MD.

Our waiter was fun to kid around with, but was not over the top or anything. things like.... we were reminded several times to put our "walkie talkies" away... (cell phones).
