I am torn about whether or not to do the Fantasmic Dinner package. We are going in late August on the free dining program and do not want to wait in line in the hot weather for a seat. We have got last minute seats in May and Sept. We will definately want to see it again since MIL is with us who has never seen it. I really wanted to do Sci-Fi but am thinking of bagging it for the Fantasmic package. I don't think I will want another buffet (doing CM already and maybe CP) so that leaves us with Mama Melrose as our only option.

Is it worth it? Is the food good? Also do you really have to be there 45min ahead of time with the package? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of NOT waiting

We eat at MM even when we arent doing the package. We really enjoy it there. We will be doing the package there on 9/1 though. ;) I would give it a :thumbsup2

As for when to arrive, I have done the package many times over the past 6 years and have always been told 30 minutes in advance. Some people have reported being told 45 minutes though, and I will go by that rule of thumb from now on. The last time we did it, almost 2 years ago, we arrived probably about 35 minutes in advance, thinking we would be ok. Well by the time we got to the top they started merging the lines and people not from the package line were sitting in the package section. We got the last row, and people behind us sat in the handicap accesible row. This caused a bit of a ruckus with them being told to move, they fought back saying they had the packge and people who hadnt done it had their seats, etc... Finally they were allowed to sit there (no one else needed it), but from that experience I will arrive closer to 40-45 minutes in advance, no mattter what Im told next time.

We're doing MM this trip with the fantasmic package. We're on the DDP so not sure how that works in terms of the fixed price menu. However, we've eaten there before and liked it. Last time we saw Fantasmic we were standing in the very back of the standing room only, leaning against the fence. It was still awesome, but I was motivated to guarantee myself a seat this time. :)

We did the H&V last year and I prefer MM. :)

Have fun!
