I have a ADR for 3:45 pm ..really don't like to eat so early , by the time after watching the show we, kids will be hungry again...

Only reason why still accepting it is that I heard the line up for Fantasmic is very long sometimes up to 2 hr where having dinner there would get us VIP pass for the show...my questions are ,

- is the line up really that bad in first week of May ?
- is this even worth it to eat that early ?
- anyone tried this and if the staff there would rush you out the door ?

They won't rush you, but I suggest you think of it as a late lunch, then have a light QS dinner *before* the show (or get your dinner "to go" and bring it into the show with you).

1. Yes - lines are LONG especially since they've cut down on the # of shows per week.

2. We ate @ 3PM last year - planned it for our lunch by eating a later than usual breakfast - then split a CS after the show.

3. If you feel rushed, say so, they'll stop.

The dinner packages are wonderful! You meet at guest services at time to be seated, then walk a private walkway to special seating. Worth the cost.

Isn't there actually some quick service/snacks available at the show? I seem to remember this from a few years ago.

Not anymore--now the package entrance is just before the Beauty and the Beast theater.

Yes, hot dogs, popcorn, beer, and soda. Plus a *ton* of stuff right outside the entrance.

true, but it is still a separate walk way for package ticket holders...just not as long a walk as it used to be. We actually preferred the new package entrance.

We did Momma Melrose for the Fantasmic package. It was great! Our resies were for 3:45, but because they were switching over to dinner we actually weren't seated till around 4. We had a leisurely dinner and left the restaurant after 5. There are nice snack options available both before and afer Fantasmic if you need one. We were actually quite full from our wonderful meal and grabbed some fruit from the fruit stand outside Fantasmic on our way out and were fine.

another thing I've read that some people ask for their dessert to go from Mama Melrose (obviously won't work with the ice cream options, though) and take that with them to the theater for a treat while waiting for the show to start.

I do too. Just wanted to point out that you don't meet at Guest Services anymore.

that sounds like a plan..! save the dessert for later..

This was our favorite meal on our last visit. We ate at the same time you are and we just had lunch at 11am that day. It was great to get the package b/c it also came with an appetizers and they were awesome! Try the calamari and the cheese/olive platter. YUM! It was nice to have the separate entrance b/c it does get crowded.

are there more than one show per night in the summer months?

Can you order anything on the menu with the Fantasmic dinner package since the price is fixed at $32.99 pp or is there a set menu?

Bill

The package is always for the first show, even if there is a second show that night.

You can order anything off the menu. If it says it's for two then you need another person from your table that wants to share with you.

I really enjoyed the salad for my appetizer.

OK cool! Thank you. My son and I can tear up the calamari appetizer.;)

I was looking around and found a schedule for this June.

It said there was only one show at 9pm on June 19,20,21,and 24.

Don't know how accurate it is but that's what I found.

I've never seen the show in WDW since i won't stand in line that long for anything. That's why I will opt for the dinner package.

I've seen it a couple times at Disneyland. Also heard the one at Disneyland was better. I know it was awesome when I saw it.

Also what would you say is a good time to make a reservation for a 9pm show?

Thanks again

the ressies are pretty hard to come by and you probably won't have a lot of choice on the time, usually between 3 & 5PM.

We ate this early and didn't have any problems. 11 people, ages ranged from early 80's to 2.

Also, remember you get an appetizer, entree, AND dessert with the Fantasmic dinner package.

I think we might have picked up a snack after the show, though. Don't remember.

I was happy to get a 4:40 FDP at Mama this morning. We usually get a ressie more in the 3:00 range, so I am so surprised.

We have done the package both at The Derby and H and V. We didn't have good experiences at either. Last year we did MM and loved it! We had the best service of our trip there. The food is very kid-friendly and my kid's loved having their own appetizers.

The cheesecake was delicious and I'm not a cheesecake type of gal.
