Mama Melrose/Fantasmic Dinner Package

How is the food there. We have been to WDW 13 times and have never tried this place. LOL I made an ADR for the Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine but the detailed menu on Dis doesn't look that great for my kids. So now I need advice/reviews on Mama's. Thanks Oh we are going there in July.

I just posted a review on the review board. DH and I ate at Mama Melrose for the first time last month, and we really liked it!

Will your children be eating from the children's menu or the adult menu? If they like pizza, the flatbreads are very similar to pizza.

Are you sure H&V doesn't have any food your kids would like? It's a buffet and very kid friendly. We really enjoyed our dinner there.

Well I looked at the more detailed menu on Dis and the choices don't impress us really. I mean sure they have the usualy kid stuff there. I don't think the food is the same as other buffets at WDW we have eaten at.

Two will eat off adult and one off the kid's menu.

We really enjoyed Mama Melrose. The food was good, we really enjoyed the steak Gorgonzola.

We just did the Mama Melrose/Fantasmic package and thought the food was good and that there was a nice selection on the menu. Service was good at the beginning but then got slow toward the end (I am not sure if there was an issue or what) so make sure you have plenty of time between your ADR time and Fantasmic time. It is a long walk from MM to Fantasmic.

We have eaten there twice. This last July we ate there with the Fantasmic Dinner package. We liked our first visit to the restaurant in 2002. We hated the visit this past trip 2007. The food simply was not good. In fact it was so bad my wife swore off this place for good. She will not go back. I cannot say I am going to argue with her on that point.

My Fiance and I ate at MM last year for the Fantasmic Dining plan. The meal might have been the worst of our trip which means it was only a 6 or 7 out of 10. I don't mean to say that the food was bad, it was just average. We must have had excellent luck with meals, we loved everything we had. We booked MM again for the dining plan with friends this year and we're looking forward to it. Not every restaurant on property is going to knock your socks off. MM is just a little more average than some other places.

We did the Fantasmic package as well. It was great not needing to arrive early for Fantasmic and we loved our seats. Dinner though was awful. The gorgonzola steak was quite good. That was the only good thing! Flat breads were awful, chicken parm was yucky! Service was terrible. We ordered bread (a paid appetizer!) that came after our dinner and was nothing special. We will never eat there again. I do not recommend Mama Melrose's.
