I had one years ago, very sweet lovable babies, they are lap dogs and require daily grooming.

They are very high matinence dogs as far as grooming. Be prepared to brush, brush, brush every day to keep the coat from matting.

We have one, she is very very lovable and very much a lap dog. We have her professionally groomed once every 2 weeks.

That being said she is VERY possessive about her food. When she is eating you DO NOT mess with her which is hard when you have a toddler in the house. She will snip at anyone when she is eating.

Other than that she is a sweetie pie and we love her to pieces.

Hi Terry!

I think we "spoke" online back in the summer about Maltese. We have two...mine and DD17's. They along with our lab are the loves of my life! Mine is very possessive and protective of me and won't let DH around me at certain times. DD's is just a big teddy bear and loves being inside with mine and outside with the lab (the lab thinks he's her baby....really cute).

Anyway, we do not have any trouble with ours at all with matting. They are both groomed every three weeks.

They really are sweet little guys!!

She is adorable! I really know very little about dogs but ours is 1/2 maltese. She looks exactly like a maltese but has color in her hair. I really did not have time for grooming so we have her groomed getting her cut quite short. Like everyone said, she is a lap dog and very lovable. We crate trained her and she housebroke quite easily. Good luck!
