Mall Parking--warning..major rant-age

:Grr!I swear to god the mall I work at thought about NOTHING when they designed their parking!!!They only have ONE parking garage and during the week half of it is taken up by valet parking(which during the week is rarely used).This increases to 3/4 the garage on the weekends.On top of that...I have to leave up to an hour and a half before hand just to FIND a decent space anywhere in the parking lot when working on the weekends.This gets even WORSE during Christmas and I am dreading it like one would dread a bad case of herpes! They don't think to plan for ANY sort of employee parking during Christmas(or at least they didn't last year)and one day I spent nearly 2 hours looking for a space that wasn't out in the next freaking COUNTY!!!It doesn't help that I close a lot so I am a little nervous about walking out to my car at night in the parking lot,esp if I have to park a million miles away.A few times I've even had to park in the parking lots of resteraunts that are across from the mall and walk to the mall itself.Grrr!IDIOTS!I swear to god if I ever find the moron who designed the mall parking I"d string him up by his bootlaces and hang him from a ceiling fan by his TOENAILS! The least they could do for the employees is set up one of the back lots(near the dumpster perhaps)for employees ONLY or something.Grr...sorry.Was upset.Will not rant again.

At least you don't have to pay for Parking. I went to Bay Side which is near Downtown Miami, and they wanted 8.50 to Park for 3 Hours! If you were over 3 hours, it went up to 12.50! They should have a flat rate for people who are residents!

Oh I understand,Poohbear.It's a freaking CRIME that they don't give a lot just to employees.I am dreading Christmas...like one dreads a bad case of herpes.

That's horrible that they don't provide parking for employees at Christmas. Our mall here provides a remote parking lot for employees with a shuttle that runs during the Christmas shopping season.

Weird that we should have the same vent today! My DH and I wanted to go to Lunch, somewhere different, and when we saw the sign for Parking, we both said "What are they NUTS!" Makes you wonder WHERE the Employees have to park, and if they half to pay.

Maybe you and other employee can site incidents of crime then ask security to escort you to your car. If enough employees asked for that (that is what security is for, isn't it?), maybe something would change.

The mall in my area actually resorts to VALET PARKING during the holiday season! Let me tell ya... there are times when I've been tempted to do it, but I just couldn't bring myself to shell out the money for it -- out of principal. The craziness of the malls at the holidays is one reason I do much of my shopping on the internet!

Apparently,at our mall,all the security does is walk around inside the mall or drive around th e parking lot in their little yellow trucks.I've never seen them actually DO anything.
I know the first year the mall was open(two christmases ago)they did provide remote parking/shuttling for mall employees BUT they decided it wasn't cost effective enough so last year it was discontinued.Believe me,there were times that I sat down on my lunch break and wrote them a long letter ripping them a new one,but none of my letters ever were delivered to mall mgmt because DH said it was pointless to write such things.He said no mall would ever provide any sort of employee parking during Christmas and that it was just a yearly booger I would have to put up with whether I liked it or not. I didn't speak to him for a day or so after that I was so angry with him.
