Mall Cop...yea or nay

It's a holiday week-end; the kids are out of school until next Thursday; it's colder than a well-diggers bottom... I'm sure we'll be going to see something over the next few days. Mall Cop or Hotel for Dogs... name your poison. :goodvibes

It looks like a stupid movie. I don't like stupid movies. But the rest of the family does...Dumb & Dumber is one of DH's favorites.

The family might go, but I'm voting "Nay."

The only reason we are going to see it is that we were at the Burlington Mall, MA visiting when they were filming the movie. We saw the sets and Kevin James on a Segway. The only bad thing was they closed down the Rainforest Cafe to redo for the movie. DS was devestated when we got there and the poor people felt awful that he was just sobbing. They were really nice about it but... DS will never forget that! :)

I like Kevin James so I will probably see it. Maybe I'll wait to see it when it comes out on DVD!

Kevin James cracks me up so this is a must-see for me! I won't see it in theatres though, I will wait for DVD.

I am going to pass but my ds12 really wants to see it. We just got back from seeing Hotel for Dogs. My kids and I liked it (ages 6, 10, and 12). It was cute and the inventions were clever.

that's pretty much the only reason I want to see it, b/c that's the mall we use. probably will wait to dvd

Yep, we're seeing it, probably tonight. It looks like a grown-ups "Home Alone". LOL! I need some mindless entertainment. I've been feeling blue.:sad1:

I will not pay $7 to $9 per person to see it in the theaters, but I'd pay $3.99 for the whole family to watch it on Pay Per View.

Yay b/c its got Kevin James, but dd has been dying to see Hotel for Dogs so I think that will win for this weekend. I love movies like Dumb & Dumber, Legally Blonde, etc so I'm sure I'll like this one :).

I couldn't help but laugh... the movie is being heavily advertised in the Burlington Mall itself, with big posters of Keving James on a Segway... and as we're walking through we keep getting passed by an actual Burlington Mall cop on a Segway! :rotfl:

I haven't seen any ads and the premise doesn't tempt me, but I did hear one scene on the radio this morning, and it was funny. "The brain is the only weapon that doesn't need a holster!"

same here. the kids and I watched them film for a while and it was fun. the burlington mall is "my mall" and its kind of cool to see it in a movie.

My father supervised the construction of that mall -- you oldtimers may remember when it had cement statues of animals for the kids to climb on scattered throughout the main walkway?

Can you imagine the hysteria that would ensue in today's world over suggesting that kids climb on cement animals with nothing but tile underneath them? :rotfl:

It's funny how there are so many people on DIS boards from my neck of the woods. North Shore Mall is my local mall, but Burlington is the one that I go to when we want something a little different. We like that there is a Pizzaria Regina in the food court. We also like Rain Forest Cafe as mentioned by a previous poster. I think Kevin James is funny. I'm not sure if we will get out to see this one. It is so cold!!

I felt like I was trapped at the Burlington Mall just a few days before Christmas. I went in, no problem. Came out around 2:00 and there were cars just sitting everywhere. No one could really move. I was lucky and got out the back way not sure how but I ended up near Lahey clinic. It worked!

Is there still a movie theater near the mall? Would be funny to see the movie there.
