My wife has put me up to this one, honest.

Has anybody been to the new Mall At Millenia?

Apparently it is well worth a visit.

Johnny

Yeah, right Johnny, we believe you. ;) I started on thread on this topic a few weeks ago on the planning board. It's over there somewhere. Search function has been disabled, so it will have to wait.

I just went on Saturday. It's very nice! Not as large as I thought it would be though. We got there right around 10:45 and there weren't many people around yet. Macy's was having a terrific sale and my husband got a great new pair of Timberland shoes for $49.99 (plus tax).

The food critic for the Orlando Sentinel gave the restaurant McCormick and Schmick's Seafood Restaurant a decent review. The food court didn't really sit well with him though (and I'll say that later in the day when the mall had attracted more people, the food court was pretty crowded, although the wait at each food vendor wasn't too long).

Most regular malls in the area just have wooden benches for their guests to sit in. The Mall at Millenia has provided leather stuffed seating, sofas, and interesting (contemporary looking) chairs.

We didn't venture into the other large department stores, but my husband found both "big screen TV with surround sound" stores (very nice but very $$$$!)

I think it's worth a visit! Very nice, very new, very clean. We had a wonderful time and plan to return over the next few weeks to hit the Macy's sales racks!

Have fun!

We went in November and found it really good. Macy's and Bloomingdale's had that "classy" feeling but the whole mall was very upmarket. Spent loads but it was all good value compared to UK prices. We still like Florida Mall though because it was the first mall we visited when we first went in 1987. Altamonte Mall is OK as well but doesn't have anything that the other two don't have - just nice for a journey out and about for the day.

We visited here last December and it is a great mall. It is wonderfully clean and spacious making it ideal for shopping, we found though, that it got very busy and the car park was filling up fast.

We were in Orlando when it opened in October and visited a week later (and again the following week!). It is a fabulous mall - upmarket, but not stuffy and I like the way they've integrated the designer stores with the regular ones.

Food courts aren't really my thing, but this one looked very nice - it'll be interesting to see if it still looks as good after a couple of years of patronage. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory both times. The first time because we'd never been to one before and it was on my 'to do' list; the second because it was superb! The menu is colossal and there really is something for everyone. It takes me long enough to choose from half a dozen selections - I didn't know where to start! And, of course, the cheesecakes are to die for! I'm not a great dessert eater, but, well ... it would have been churlish not to. ;) The Brio Tuscan Grille opposite looked good too - we'll just have to try that one next time.
