Malaea's PJ&TR: Randy Chapman Pics/Video Blog Online; Disney Videography

We had our second planning session this past friday. It was a packed day but went really well.

-8am Meet Patricia Le Juene about hair and makeup and do a trial run.
This went well. I loved Patricia and she worked well with my requests and my curly hair. The airbrush makeup ROCKS!

-11:30 Meet Randy for engagement pics.
The pictures went well but the getting ready after Patricia did NOT go well. My dress for the pics ripped. The zipper broke and we had to use pliers to get it up and safety pins. We ended up 20 minutes late for the shoot and when we arrived I realized I had left my engagement ring locked in the safe at the hotel. I had it cleaned before the trip so it would be shiny for the pics and of course I was freaking about the dress and forgot to grab my ring. Oh the irony :sad2: Anyway. I had a minor freak out about the ring in front of Randy then he told me he would work with us so it would not be obvious I didnt have the ring on. Totally sucks but randy did a great job posing us. Needless to say no engagement ring in the engagement pics and i am return my overpriced dress to the store tomorrow even though I wore it for the pics. (I had it cleaned. Not that it matters, the zipped is broken anyway. The funny thing is the dress was a little big for me.)

Moving on.

-2:15-2nd Tasting Session a GF kitchen.
As before Chef did an amazing job. We are having a spanish meal so the menu is all custom, thus the second tasting. The pork was AMAZING. He actually cooked a whole pork shoulder for the tasting. Ill post pics.

-4pm-Meeting with rose RE floral/decor
At this point I was tired and full of food. All I wanted was a nap. Rose was great. we discussed the pre-reception floral which i dont want to spend a lot of $ on since I wont be there to enjoy it and see the use of a lot of flowers for a 1 hour event as a waste. We also started talks about MAtts surprise 30th b-day that same weekend as the wedding.

That was about it. We loved Pop Century and had a blast at Epcot on Saturday. On the way back through Georgia we stopped at a farm to buy the peach jam for our favors.

Ill post some pics now.

My dress was finally delivered. It is too big in the waist and hips but that will be fixed. Here are some pics.

Prereception: Mezza Table which would be a larger form of this...

Course 1: Ceasar salad
Course 2: Paella
IMG_3096.jpg

Course 3: Main Dish. Pollo Asado; Spanish Pork; Spanish Rice; Plantains; Green beans for color.

Dessert: Wedding Cake. Mad Hatters cake in pink and brown and grooms cake with Star Wars Darth Vadar Theme--Yes my DF is a complete dork

Late reception snack: Sliders (mini burgers)

Our centerpieces are alternating between something similar to this:

IMG_3406.jpg

And a similar theme but in vases. The flowers will be hot pink orchids though. For color. I dont think they will be quite as heavy as this though.

Our tables are alternating between square and round tables. and the walls will be draped. Also we are having some disco balls over the floor. I just got confirmation that they can do this. :woohoo:

Our prereception is still indecided. I want something simple and not too costly.
She suggested the following in either a square bowl or a round one. It would be pink sand and a brown orchid.

Maria -- That gown is STUNNING on you! You look so beautiful! Congratulations! Your food looks delicious! I am so glad the GF chef did such a great job for you on your custom menu. I am practically drooling. ;) Oh, and that totally stinks about your engagement shoot dress and forgetting your ring. I am sure the pictures will be great anyway!

Okay, Maria, I have to ask. :rolleyes1 Did you lighten your hair? I was thinking of all those gorgeous dark curls in one of your first posts and you look different in your dress pix. ;)

Thanks I really love it. Cant wait until it fit properly though. The food was so yummy. I think Im going to have to give out tums to my guests though:lmao:

Yeah the ring thing still pisses me off. How silly was I to forgot. Oh well:confused3

Thanks for the sweet hair comments. No I havent dyed my hair in years. I learned not to mess with a good thing in highschool when I went blond....not a great idea for me.

I teach swimming and the chlorine sometimes lightens the ends of my hair. I think the lighting was also making it look lighter. I had my hair trimmed 2 weeks ago, since these pics, and its not lighter. I promise :thumbsup2

That's good. You remind me of my daughter, whose color is, I think absolutely stunningly dramatic and gorgeous. I can't even imagine how beautiful she'll be in a wedding gown when her day comes. Her pic is on page 5 (post 73) of my journal. I hope you'll take it as the compliment I intended!

Hi Maria -

I had my tasting session on Tuesday and my planning session on Wednesday! It was really fun - and I am feeling really good about everything. Doesn't DFTW make the process fun?

I really love the centerpiece ideas. Very pretty. The food looks delicious and your dress is gorgeous!

Your dress fits perfect!!! Gorgeous centerpieces!!!

I have to ask, what is your Grooms cake going to be??? I am planning the same for DF.

I love your dress and your decor!!!

They make it SO fun. My DF even enjoyed himself.

 Ok, I just have my wedding shower and bachlorette party last Saturday. We did it all in one day so my out of town friends could make both. All I can say is my friends and family ROCK:worship:

Friday night I picked up my girlfriends from college at the airport. I went to an all girls school, Sweet Briar College so we have a mini Sweet Briar party for me. It was so much fun though the whole "getting lots of sleep" the night before my party did not happen. All I got was lots of champagne and little sleep. Any who.

Saturday morning we have a wedding shower brunch at Cafe Intermezzo in Atlanta. My mom and friend Kathleen did most everything and it was perfect. We have a ton of people there, the food was yummy, and I didnt have to play silly games (No offense to anyone, but Im not one to enjoy that stuff.)

After the shower I was taken to the Intercontinental Hotel in Buckhead where it turns out my fabulous DF had reserved us some rooms. He works for the hotels hadquarters and got a crazy cheap rate. I had no time to nap before my bachlorette party began.

 WARNING: If you get easily offended stop reading!:scared1:

Ok, for my bachlorette I really wanted to party. So we first took pole dancing lessons :woohoo: Ok, I have to say this was AWESOME. Not only was it a great workout but it was a great icebreaked for all of my friends who did not know eachother. Once you learn how to do a sexy walk and spin on a pole there is really no need to be shy anymore. We took the class at a place called Pole La Teaz. No we did not learn from a stripper. This is an actualy workout place where people take these classes as their daily workout routine. Here is a pic after the class.

From the class we headed back to the hotel because like I said, it was a great workout and we were icky.

After we all looked decent again we headed to Einsteins in midtown atlanta to eat dinner. As always the food was yummy. The girls gave me my naughty lingerie gifts most of which I would actually wear. I didnt get anything that required deep thought to put on  Here is a pic of my and my lil sister.

From there we headed out to Blakes, a gay karaoke bar, where we partied all night. :dance3: I dont think details are required. Lets just say the night began with an amazing drag show:rolleyes1

Drag shows are the best! When I lived in Washington DC I used to watch the drag races in Dupont Circle. Didn't really know what I was getting into the first time, but I had a great time!

Yea, I had a more conservative friend that had NO idea what she was getting into. She ended up really enjoying herself after the initial shock wore off. ;)
