We are planning on making our own favors for the reception. We will have approximately 40 guests. The wedding is 1 month from today (yikes!) so we don't have tons of time. Does anyone have any ideas for making favors? Pictures would be helpful, as well.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

i would love to give some ideas but, what are your colors and do you have a theme?

Our colors are dark blue and silver, and we don't really have a theme. We're having Mickey and Minnie as the cake topper, and they are coming to the reception, so I guess that's the closest thing to a theme that we have.

maybe something related t snow because of the blue an white. or white choclates in snowflake shape wrapped n blue organza with ribbons. i was going to say ornaments but your wedding is in january. if i think of more i wil let you know

i just thought of a common one
make a cd with music and the meaning of the songs
wrap in white envelope and lue ribond

ideas for songs: in my case
i meet my fiance doing plays in high school so i would have that song,
first song you danced to
maybe your parents wedding songs
and some songs from your wedding

alot depends on how many people you are having. with your colors you could get silver or blue jingle bells and make them as mickey heads. put them as like napkin rings and they can keep them.

I made favors for my wedding. I took very inexpensive glass candle holders with petals and hot glued little white roses from the craft store in between each petal. I put tea lights in each holder and had them lit at each table. People were happy to bring them home along with a small box of four chocolates I put at each place setting. It really looked elegant. I hope you have a wonderful wedding!

We just finish making cd favors...all we need to do is burn the cd's. There is a pic of them in my planning journal (the link is in my siggy). princess:

You could make chocolate boxes using white chocolate and fill them with blue jelly beans and use a blue curling ribbon to tie the bag.

Here's a quick and easy color coordinated one: navy blue and silver M & Ms. I bought mine from here http://www.ilovesweettreats.com/M&Ms.htm - they were cheaper than M & M directly. I got 3 lbs of each color (which hits their free shipping amount) and put 1.5 oz of each color into a sandwich baggie and then tied them with navy and ivory curling ribbon. You could easily make tags to put on them too. We didn't put any tags on ours because they went inside our hotel welcome bags.

We used the custom M&M's and bought the clear favor boxes from Oriental Trading company, they were pretty cheap and came with a white ribbon, but we used blue ribbon that we had left over. They were easy to put together and actually looked pretty nice.
