Hi All,

I am going to be booking our trip for next year at the weekend and get the dining plan included (quick service)

I definately want to make sure I make the most of this so get the best meals and snacks on this plan.

What meals and snacks would you recommend for getting the "most value" from it as I've seen that flame tree barbecue does a couple of good meals such as the chicken and rib combo which looks great to use on the plan for the price. Another one I've seen are the cupcakes that you can get from starting rolls as a snack retailing $5+ each.

Any advise and recommendations would be greatly appreciated :goodvibes

You can get a funnel cake at HS that's covered in strawberries and ice cream that retails over $8 I think that qualifies as a snack credit.

Be Our Guest lunch and breakfast are both QS and both excellent values.

Some good values at Sunshine Seasons & also Tangierine Cafe in Epcot.

Wolfgang Puck Express at Dis Springs (esp lunch & dinner) is an excellent use of your credits.

The best QS values in my opinion are:

Wolfgang Puck Express - Disney Springs
Boardwalk Bakery
Les Halles - WS France

I base this on the fact that A. The food is good B. You get to pick a good dessert.

Some of the best QS values I have seen during my recent trips were:

Flame Tree BBQ @ Animal Kingdom
Wolfgang Puck Express - Disney Springs
Sunshine Seasons (The Land) - Epcot
Be Our Guest - Magic Kingdom

In terms of snacks, I think anything that costs $4.50 is a pretty decent value. Don't waste it on fruit, bottled water, ect.

Great values for your QS DDP dollar:
I made this list last year for our DDP trip. Some things may have changed since then
Chicken & Ribs combo at Cosmic Ray's, Flame Tree, and Fairfax Fare
Nicoise Salad at BOG
Chicken & Lamb Shawarma Platter at Tangierine Cafe
Mediterranean Sliders Combo at Tangierene Cafe
Kefta Sandwich combo at Tangierine Cafe
Teriyaki Salmon at Katsura Grill
Salmon/Beef/Chicken Combo at Katsura Grill
Pork Chop with mashed potatoes at Sunshine Seasons
Grilled Fish or Rotisserie Chicken at Sunshine Seasons
Salmon and Roasted Potatoes at Wolgang Puck Express (this may be the most expensive QS on property). There are many, many entrees that are great values on the DDP at this location.
Scallops and chips at Cookes of Dublin

Oh my gosh, I've been dying to try a funnel cake so this would be awesome if it's a snack credit. Have you ever tried one?

BOG is another one of my must do, first time restaurants so I can't wait to go there.

I never realised wolfgang puck express was classed as a QS, that's good to know :thumbsup2

I like your thinking as I'm all about desserts . Does Lea Halles have quite a large variety of desserts as I don't think I've ever been in there?

Thank you, that's good to know in terms of a ballpark figure on how much to aim on spending in terms of snack prices

Scallops and chips at Cookes of Dublin

Wow, thank you do much for your list, it definately helps. The Mediterranean sliders and the scallops & chips sound a-m-a-z-i-n-g so I will definately be giving them a try

I tried a funnel cake in november and the thing Was greasy-chewy...

Cookes of Dublin did not offer scallops anymore but all the things i ate there Was soooooo good! Hot and fresh in the same time.

You've gotten a lot of great suggestions from PP of good things to eat.
For me, the "most value" is that which I enjoy the most and it has nothing to do with dollar cost.

I agree, I just didn't want to get my usual chicken nuggets for $10 when there may be something amazing that I was never willing to try as the price is a little more. As we've got the dining plan, I thought that this may be a good chance to try new foods :cutie:

Scallops and Chips are no longer offered at Cookes of Dublin (too expensive I bet)

I'm a huge funnel cake fan, but unfortunately did not get around to trying this one. I saw some people who had one though and it looked really good!

My advice is, although you want a good bang for your buck, just eat what you want. The first time we did the dining plan, I hoarded all the snack credits for things of a food "value" and paid OOP for water and things like that. At the end of the trip we had snack credits left to spend on things we didn't necessarily want.

Here's some snack ideas, again--from last year, so check before you count on a particular item.

I consider anything over $4.75 to be a good way to spend a credit. And of course, value is in the eye of the beholder.

Dole Whip Floats at Aloha Isle and at the Poly
Vegetarian Chili and New England Clam Chowder at CHH
Churros at Pecos Bills
The Plaza and the All-American Sundaes, Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich at The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
Sundaes at Storybook Treats
Bugz Sundae and Haagen Daaz Ice Cream at Discovery Island Ice Cream
Jalepeno Cream Cheese Pretzel, several locations around WDW
Caramel Chocolate Pineapple at Karamell-Kuche
Berry Cream Puff at Kringla Bakery (says it contains alcohol)
Ham and Cheese Croissant, Fruit Parfait, Strawberry Tart, and Lobster Bisque at Le Halles (bakery in France)
Iced Mocha or Iced Latte at Sunshine Seasons
Hot Fudge Sundae at Hollywood Scoops
Pecan Pattie, Toffee at Writer's Stop (I think this place was supposed to close and then didn't)
Mammoth Pecan or Cashew Pattie, Pecan Caramel Roll, Mickey Peanut Butter Cup,English Toffee at Sweet Spells
Pepperoni pizza Slice at Boardwalk Pizza Window
There are some cupcakes that can be pretty pricey around WDW.
and the infamous Funnel Cakes. I've never had one but they look really good.

Oh yeah! They have a TON of desserts. And they're all delicious. I don't like the little chocolate brownie type desserts you get at some of the QS's. They're gross and not worth the calories. But a napoleon from Les Halles is worth every.single.one.
