What do you do for milk in tea?

I know coffee rules in the US, but I can't do without my tea in the morning ;)

I used to take powdered milk along with the teabags but, since foot and mouth, I've assumed that dried milk was a no-no as it's a banned 'dairy product'.

If we have a fridge in our accommodation, we just buy milk there, as soon as we can. But until we can get to the shop, or if we don't have a fridge, what can we use?

..... where are you staying?
Some villa companies offer a welcome pack, if you aren't driving a couple of the Towncar companies offer a 30 minute grocery stop, and if you are on site you can usually get milk from the shop in the resort ( I'm sure I'm telling you stuff you already know Hilary :teeth: !!) and the off-site resorts I've stayed in usually have a deli where you can buy milk.

Other than that, you are going to need a stop over at a supermarket on your way to your accommodation!

Hi

If you are staying in a hotel there is usally an ice machine. In the past we have bought the smallest bottle of milk and stood it in the ice bucket to keep cool. It works well. Couldn't stand powdered milk in tea - Yuck

Hi Hilary,
fellow tea drinker here!!!! We are staying in villa - do they supply you with a kettle? Sorry never been before and like you, I cannot cope without my morning cuppa!!!

Ah Hilary - I think we must have been split at birth - you ask all the domestic questions that I torture myself with before we go:o

I can't cope without that first cup of tea of the morning and I cannot bear "plastic milk" - the little plastic pots of pretend milk you get, or the coffee creamer they give you with your coffee machines (very nice in coffee, a real no-no in tea).

Powerdered milk - in a little container - at the bottom of the suitcase.

Then straight down the shops for some real milk when we get there. Only problem is the cartons are HUGE, so we always check-out the hotel's restaurants and ask for the small cartons which they provide for drinking milk.

LOL Annie :teeth: ditto on the 'creamer' packets and pots - can't stand it in tea!

Lisa - if your villa is rented by a UK company, I'm pretty sure it will have a kettle.

We always take a teapot with us (don't laugh!) - bought a cheap stainless steel one especially and keep it in the suitcase! And buy bottled water - tea tastes horrible made with water out of the tap!
