I am attending a 3 day conference at the GF in April but extended my stay to 7 days. I purchased my room through the conference and was able to link this to MDE. I think I read somewhere DDP was not offered as food will be provided in the mornings during the conference.

I have assumed I am not elgible for DDP since I did not purchase straight through Disney. Am I right? I am hoping I am wrong but wanted to make sure.:)

In order to get dining, you have to have a package. That means room AND tickets. You've already got the room through the conference, and I assume tickets. If you want dining, you'll need to rebook your extra days with tickets and dining. You should still be able to use the tickets from this package during your conference days as you can pick up tickets up to 3 days before the package starts. Does that make sense?

It makes sense. I guess I am out of the DDP then as I booked the rest of my extra days at conference rate as well which is 1/2 the cost of the room so that pretty much makes up for OOP costs for dining especially at the GF.

Thanks sharonabe for your reply.

To get a dining plan you need to book your package through Disney or a Disney authorized travel agent. As you mentioned, your convention organizers arranged deeply discounted room rates which are much better than booking a package with the room rate Disney charges.
