Making Room Requests ??

Forgive me as I am sure this has been asked a million times but the search function won't work for me to look this up.

Does anyone fax room requests anymore? I had made my requests at the time of booking but I just called now to verify them and nothing was in the system that I had made any requests. So I made them again. Now, how do I be sure the resort (POFQ) truly gets them. Do I just keep calling reservations or should I go ahead and fax them? And if I should fax them how far ahead should I do so? We will be arriving at POFQ on April 22nd.

Most people get most of their requests. If you have listed your requests in the order of importance then you should be fine. I always list mine like this...non-smoking, higher level, close to elevator (at least that's what I request when I'm at BWV). When at POR I ask for non-smoking, then a particular bldg. But I don't get much more specific than that.
We need to keep in mind that there really aren't any truly bad rooms at WDW...well, not many anyway. If you have given your requests at the time of booking, then the room assigners should get them. I think that many of the resort room assigners are tossing the faxes because they get so many of them. So...if you are unsure of what requests you have made, call reservations (the main number, not the resort itself) and see what they have on file..then you can add or delete.

I've used the info on allears site and have always been happy with my request(s) being met. Even on our last trip when I didn't fax it until 3 days before (instead of 4) I still got my requests. I don't ask for much. Ground floor, near food court and parking (we always have a rental car). Using the info on allears I will request certain buildings. Good luck and have a great time!
