Just a bit of clarification if you can. We will be at WDW from Dec. 2 - 9. I want to start making my ressies as soon as possible, but my question is do I have to wait six months for every day I want to make a ressie for, or does the first day apply to the whole trip. For example. On June 2 it will be six months from the first day we arrive. Can I make all my ressies for the whole week on June 2, or do I need to wait for June 3 for my Dec. 3 res., June 4 for my Dec. 4 res, etc... Or does the first day of your trip count for the whole thing.
I hope I am presenting what I am asking clearly enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. - on a lazy note, does anybody know the Reservation number off-hand?

1-407-WDW-DINE is the number. As for the 180 day rule, I'm pretty sure it's to the date of the day you'll be eating there, not the day your vacation starts.

It depends on the CM you get.

They are in the process of changing the rules for just this.

Old rule was 180 days out +10 for your trip.

This ment you could call your first day and make all your ADRs for your stay up to 10 days.

The new rule is just 180 days out tis would mean you would have to call each day for that day as it becomes the 180 out day.

Thanks for the quick responses (and the number)!
Well, I guess I'll just call and find out on the 2nd if I can do them all or if I need to call back each day.
I'm not too worried about being able to get what I want (I don't think that week we are going is busy enough to be a big problem, especially calling this early) but I was hoping to be able to do it all with one call.
Also, how often would you recommend calling back after the Ressies are made to confirm them. I've heard a few horror stories of people making a ressie, then getting there, and finding out that they never comfirmed them and a problem happened.

I don't call back .

I figure once I have my comfirmation number thats it I'm set. If they make a mistake then it's up to them to correct it.

If you keep calling back to check they have a record of that and at any time can say well on such and such time you called and thats when you canceled it.

thats just me and I have never had a problem at all.

i do check my ADRs prior to leaving. i have found some incorrect on their end. luckily they were able to make them right.

On June 2 it will be six months from the first day we arrive.

Don't forget it is technically 180 days, not 6 months. They are basically the same, but not exactly as every month doesn't have 30 days. So your 6 month date might be slightly different than your 180 days date. I think there is a calculator on these boards somewhere where you can enter your dining date and it will give you the 180 day prior date.

I agree with jayhjay. Although it's 180 days, that's not always 6 months to the day. One month with an extra day or one with a day or two short make a difference. I made that mistake one year with the princess breakfast in the castle. After arising bright and early to get the hardest ressie in the MK (to call at 6 am with the time difference:eek: ) I was told they couldn't book it till the next day! So I had to do it all over again the next morning:headache: Your best bet is to call the dining reservation number and ask exactly what is the first day you can call and how many days you can book at that time. Have a great trip!

June 5th. There are 3 31 day months(July, August and October) between June and Dec. This ain't rocket science.:thumbsup2

Here's the toll free no. for disney dining: 1-800-828-0228.

Someone said the other day she got one CM that would only do one day at a time for 180 days out. She then called back and got a different CM that would let her do the whole trip. So like othter things it depends on who you get on the phone.

We are going down December 1-9. We cannot make our ADR's until June 4. But I'm glad because it gives me a few days to check out the park times for my stay and how it will coincide with my breakfasts and dinners.

We will see you there!!!! :yay:

Keep in mind that it is 180 days, not 6 months. There really is a difference and you want to calculate based on 180 days, which I believe, puts your date to make your ADR's at next Tuesday, June 5th (which just happens to be my anniversary).

We are checking in on Nov. 25th (departing on Dec. 2) and I was able to make all of our ADR's today.

I have no idea about the "rules" (I thought I understood that I had to call everyday to hit the 180 day mark for each day of our trip--we're staying off site), BUT, I just called today (180 days for the Sunday after Thanksgiving) and could make a reservation for Thursday the 29th, which would be over 180 days, so who knows. I even called back twice later and changed some things up and added a couple different ressies for later on that week and it was ok.

I'm not going to question it, but I didn't think I could do that!
I'd say when you call, just ask if you can make ressies for later on that week too.

:)

Amy:

The "rule" is 180 days, but if you are staying on-site, you are supposed to be able to make your ADR's for up to 10 days of your stay, thus 180+10. We are checking in on Sunday Nov. 25th, staying on site. Today is our 180 day mark, and since we are staying on-site, I am able to make our ADR's for our entire 7-night trip.

Some people seem to be able to make 180+10 ADR's even though they aren't staying on-site. It all depends on which CM answers the phone when you call.

Here you go. I arrive on Dec 2 also and our 180 mark is next Tuesday.

We are going too on Dec 2...I called Grand Gatherings last month to get my number and buy MVMCP tickets and the CM told me to make sure I call back on June 5th if there is anywhere special we want to eat...she told me I could book for the 4 days we are there on that day...we are staying at Saratoga Springs.

Have a great trip!

I'm not sure if this post was for me. If not disregard it. I know about the 180 + 10 rule. Although, I cannot make my ADR for my first day, Dec. 1, until June 4. This is the day that is exactly 180 days from Dec 1. And yes, I will make all my ADR's for all 9 days on June 4.

But thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2
