Making Ressie - Cash and Points

I am planning on renting some of my points to a co-worker. Depending upon the cost of points or cash, the co-worker may decide to make a cash ressie for Fri/Sat and use my points for Sun-Thurs.

I understand that DVC members get a 25% discount on cash ressies, so my question is can I make the cash ressie for my co-worker using the discount as well as the points ressie for the co-worker ? If I do this my understanding is that the ressies will be linked and the co-worker would not actually have to move ...correct ?? If I can do this, would both ressies be made through MS or would I have to go to CRO for the cash ressie ?

The only way you can get the 25% cash ressie discount is if you, the member, stays in the room. He can make a cash ressie through CRO and then you can call MS and see if they can link them.

There is a possibility that cash ressies made through CRO will require a change of rooms. At a minimum, your friend will have to go to the Front Desk and check out and back in again - even if they are allowed to stay in the same room.

Make sure the CRO confirmation number is noted on the DVC reservation with a request to stay in the same room and make sure CRO notes the DVC confirmation number on the cash reservation with the same request.

Tell your friend to repeat the request at check in. The CMs do try, but it is not always possible to keep the same room when CRO cash ressies are mixed with DVC ressies.

p.s. It is true that the member cash discount is only availble if the member is staying in the room. I don't think you can even make a rack rate ressie through MS for someone else.
