Has anyone called the Reservation Office to make a Disney Reservation lately? I called this evening and I was so pressured. All I wanted was a price quote and I was asked all these personal questions, my name, address, phone number etc. I did not feel good about giving the agent all this info. I refused to give my info and I was told they needed this to give me a quote, Is this true? Are these agents paid a commission or something on every call? Can someone give me some insight here as I want to take my family to Disney. Thanks ! Don

They ask the info for marketing reasons, to get you into the system for future calls, and also because they seriously have deals that they can offer to people from certain parts of the country but not to others. Odd, I know.

Most guidebooks and many websites have the basic rate ranges for each resort in them based on the prices available when they went to print. Keep in mind the rates fluxuate often, they depend literally on what day you will be arriving as well as when you book, and deals sometimes come up as well, but the resources are out there to give you a really good idea of the range you will be most likely to pay.

The easiest way to get a quote without answering all the questions is to used the web booking engine.

The agent is just trying to do their job and their job requires that they obtain specific information about your traveling party before they can open their booking system. And they cannot give you a quote without opening their booking system. And yes, they can get in trouble for proceeding without obtaining the required information.

If you are that uncomfortable with giving Disney this information, you can go to disneyworld.com and get a quote there. Just remember, that you will not be able to book any reservations without providing all of the requested travel party information.

Every single time you call they ask all that information. I remember once trying to get a room at a resort that was sold out. I kept calling back, sometimes twice a day, and had to answer those questions each time! Got annoying, but I am used to it now.

Yes it is true you must give all that info. I work in reservations and we must do it. Part of the reason is marketing but it also has to do with many other things like if you are pricing a package and you say we have 4 people in the party. Those 4 people could be all adults or 2 adults 1 junior and one child or 2 adults and 2 infants which are going to give you totally different prices. Even on a room only reservation it can make a big difference. I know alot of people hate giving out their personal info but also realize that say you want a price on a room then deciede you want to see if it is avail you are going to make the process twice as long when you refuse to give info.

Just remeber at your job there are certain things you have to do, well same goes for us. All of us that work in reservations are there to help you and make your vacation magical but we can only make magic if we have all the info :) princess: We don't purposely want to make it a hassle for you but trust me there are reasons for everything we do. Our booking system will not let us see avail or prices unless we do it from your families info. Trust me sometimes we know you get frustrated but also see it from our side also. It gets very frustating when we have some one call who refuses to let us help them.

We are monitored on our calls and have to pass quality standards on each call that Disney has set forth and to be honest it makes your experince better and ours if we work together to find you what you need. I know it sometimes seems a bit intrusive but also know that at Disney we want our guests to feel welcomed each and every time whether they call once every 10 years or 10 times a day trying to get a certain date.

When I call just for availability, I keep the info that would influence prices the same, but I give short answers for the personal questions to get to what I want to know quickly.

And I've never been to Disney before.

Just gets you to what you want to know faster.
