We will be calling tomorrow or so to make our hotel reservations. Can I request what I specifically want on the phone? We want POR, magnolia terrace, two adjoining rooms, river view. Does anyone know if this is possible? I want to make this request before we get there, because of the needing two rooms. Also, we are selecting our own flights... do I just call our resort with our flight info for the magical express service?

I always make my requests when I make my reservations. They will tell you that the requests are not guaranteed but they are notated on your reservation. Try not to get too specific with room numbers and all that.

After you have your flight information, call Disney Travel and give them your information. They will enter it into their Magical Express system.

Yep, you can definitely make requests on the phone... when I called to make our reservations, I asked him to put down my request of staying in the AB part of POR. Now whether we'll actually get it, I don't know.. but hopefully we do, :)

And at the end of our conversation, he asked whether I had made flight arrangements yet (hadn't), so he told me just to call them back whenever I did, and they'd note it for the ME.

that makes me feel a bit better. I am REALLY hoping we get what we want. :)

Just be sure you won't be disappointed if you don't get all your requests met. If 20 families request Magnolia Terrace and only 15 rooms are open for occupancy on your check in day, five families will be out of luck. It could be you.

Be sure the requests are in the order of importance - for example, if you want adjoining (next to each other) or connecting (with an interior door in between) rooms and that is the most important request, it should be first. Then location within the resort (Magnolia Terrace) would probably be second. A water view is a bookable category, but water views also can include pools, so if you want a river view, that should probably be the third request (provided you did book a water view room).

When you check in, ask early in the process if your requests were met, so if they aren't able to meet them all, you can work with the desk CM to find a room/rooms that will be the most suitable.

You said ADJOINING rooms. Those will NOT have the door connecting the rooms inside. They will be two rooms side by side.

If you want the connecting door inside the rooms, you will want to ask for CONNECTING rooms.

And as mentioned, prioritize your requests. The way you have it worded, your request of Magnolia Terrace will be considered first, then the request of adjoining (or connecting) rooms, and then the river view request. If the adjoining (or connecting) rooms are more important to you than anything else, put that request first.

thank you for that separation of the two. I didn't realize the difference! When we call I will be certain to prioritize!!!

I have always gotten my requests. We go during a quiet time and I pay for preferred room. I asked to be as close as possible to the buses/food court and on the first floor. I mention medical issues, I have a bad knee so can not walk much and my grandson has a heart condition. Those are written on the reservation so I think that helps. Last year we had 2 room did not request connecting but got them which was nice.
