I just called about May, 2008 (1st week of). I was told that although they could give me a quote, the cost will actually go up (at check-in) because rates are not available yet. Is this correct?

I also asked about a AAA discount, which I've read can vary up to 20% depending on the season (except for the biggies) when I asked about it, I was told a firm "NO". Anyone get discounts on preferred campsites?

Thanks.

Rates for 2007 did not come out till May of last year, so I would anticipate them not coming out till May of this year for 2008. Also AAA rates did not come out till August 2006 for 2007, which was late last year compared to previous years it was in June. Have fun planning your trip.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Yea, we are planning a trip to the Grand Floridian for our one year anniversary in January of 2008, we tried online but weren't able to because as was mentioned by the above poster, rates are not yet available, so you can't book online. Same thing as happened to you, when you call reservations, they tell you that the price can change because rates are not yet available.

The above poster is also right, I believe May is when they come out with the new rates, so you don't have to wait long!

Just a warning, please check your 2008 confirmations to make sure the year is correct. We tried to by reservations for over the July 4th holiday, after the date we have been given by the CM at central reservations as our 499 day mark. When we called and made the reservations, the CM confirmed the dates twice with my DH as 2008, but when we recieved our confirmation they were for the correct dates but for 2007. When we called back to correct them, this CM said that we had called before the 499 day mark so they couldn't make/correct the reservations and to call back in about 2 weeks.

Reminds me of a similar situation. Wife and I showed up at Disney, New Years Eve two years ago. It had been a very last minute trip, and we had just booked a quick room at the All Stars since we didn't plan on staying in the room much.

Went to check-in, and quickly found out that they had no reservation under our name. Tried everything we could, and nothing. Problem was, they were packed, they could have given use one night but not the second. Luckily, my wife's mom felt for our situation and put us up in an awesome suite at one of the resorts near Downtown Disney, so it all worked out in the end.

When we got home, I double checked, and there was a SLIGHT something that had been missed during our last minute trip to Disney. Because it was right at New Years, with the year change, somehow when entering the second date we had put it for New Years of the FOLLOWING year, not the one that was happening in 2 days.

Could have easily ruined what turned out to be a great trip (Epcot is AWESOME at New Years, most amazing New Years I've ever had). Every time we make reservations now, the first thing my wife asks is, "You're sure that's for THIS year right?"....lol ;)
