I have made reservations that include 3 standard rooms for March of 2008. Do I need to specify where at CSR I would like stay? I notice on different posts mention of a variety of buildings. What do you recommend? I have selected a standard, not the waterview. I prefer not to get rooms with a views of a parking lot.

Make sure you book a preferred room, cause if not, you'll have to walk quite far (IMO) to the lobby. We were in Casitas bldg 5. Coffee is my love. every monrning I'd walk to the lobby for coffee and by the time I got there, all I wanted was a cold drink ;)

I sure would like to know what building would be best too! I'm also booking a standard room (I really would like to be by the dig site, the main pool, for my kiddos) but don't know if that's possible w/a standard room(?) I'm wondering just how much walking we're going to have to do to get to where we want to be when we are there, a little won't be too bad but if this resort is as big as I'm picturing then I guess we're in trouble. Sorry I was NO Help for you, so just asking too & giving your thread a "Bump" :)

CSR does not have preferred rooms, only waterview and standard, neither of which will guarantee you a certain room location. CSR does not have many spots with parking lot views because of the way the buildings are situated on the property.

If you already made your reservation, call and ask for a room building request to be added to your reservation.

Here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building.

i would check out buzz's website and use the information he posted above as for room recommendations and having them noted on your reservation. when i made my reservation, i forgot to have them note which section we would like to be in (although not guaranteed) so i called back to have the CM make the request on our reservation. we want to be somewhere in between the food court and the gym so we requested to be in the casitas. but if i were you, depending on where you want to be, i'd follow the recommendations of buzz and go from there..
