I have a question about borrowing and then getting some extra points from Disney. We are hoping to be able to go to Aulani in the end of June. We need a 2 Bedroom. Wow are they a lot of points. My questions is when going online to make these reservations at 8am will I be able to borrow my next years use year at that time and if I have to book an OV I am short 18 points will they offer to let me buy additional points at that time or will I have to call up to add the last day. also I think I know the answer to this one. There is no way I can walk a reservation if I don't have extra points hanging around.. correct? Thanks for your help. To wait 7 months for us Disney planners this is stressful. LOL

The on-line reservation system will allow you to borrow points if necessary, but you can't purchase one-time-use vacation points on-line.

At 7 months out, your issue for Aulani that time of year for a two bedroom will be room view. If you are looking for standard view, there is a high risk it will be gone regardless of whether you try to walk the reservation or reserve at 8 or 9 in the morning. Island garden view may also be difficult. Pool and ocean view will likely be open.

I have enough points for all other Cats. just not an OV. OV is the only one I would need to purchase one-time-use vacation points.

So now my question is Do I make the reservation for one day less and call to add on that next day as soon as member services open up? If they do have a pool view available and I put in the one less day will it be hard to add it later? Should I see if I can buy points from my friend and give them back if I don't need them? For the ocean view I am 18 point shy. Help.

I would book the nights you can then call MS at 9am for the last day. Borrowing from someone is final and you can only do one transfer in or out per uy.

If available at 8 a.m. 7 months out I would book what you can and then call to add the extra day. That is the safest course in the situation

If you book the first 4 days of your trip online, no one else using the 7 month window can book day 5 of that room for 5 more days. The only ones who can are home resort owners. It's also worth it to walk the reservation if you see a non-OV available.
