I am traveling with a party of 8 and I am having problems finding reservations. So I tried to split my group up into 2 groups of 4. There was a Via Napoli for 4 at 11:30am and I booked it. Then I found another Via Napoli for 4 at 11:30am but it wouldn't let me do it since I already had reservation at that time. All 8 people are only on my MDE. My thinking was since I only used 4 of the people in my MDE it would let me choose the other 4 people on my MDE.

Is there a way to do this online or do you have to call?

You can't make a reservation for a time you already have one. Does anyone else have an ADR they can make the reservation under their account? The only way you can have two reservations at the same time is if you take yourself off as the lead on the first reservation, I don't believe you can do this after it's already booked. It's risky, but you could cancel what you have and then try to pick it up again right away and remove yourself. Although if two reservations for 4 are showing up you'd think one for 8 would, maybe try modifying your current reservation to increase the total number of people first.

All of our vacations (5 so far) have been with 6 to 8 people. I know people love their software applications but if you call they can probably help you. Even with 8 people (in June) when I called I easily got 2 ADR's for Ohana, breakfast at Ohana and Boma, dinner at Boma and Jiko even an ADR at BoG (still regret that one). Calling saves a lot of time and trouble.

I also say to call. Two reservations for smaller groups doesn't necessarily mean they will seat you together.

For future reference, you can make two overlapping reservations on MDE as long as you put the first ADR in someone else from your party's name. It won't let you make a second one if you are listed as the primary contact on the first, but no problem doing it if you add a second reservation and have someone else as primary contact. I believe when you make the reservation it asks "who will be the person in charge of this reservation?" or something like that. There's a drop down menu with the other people listed on your MDE account.

I would have someone else in the group use their MDE account to book the reservation.
