So my girls have decided that they want their room to look like pixie hollow. I have NO idea how to do this... we rent, so I don't think we can paint, but I'm hitting up the disney store tomorrow while they are at school. We have one of those over the bed net thingies that has butterflies, so we're going to put that over their beds (they have bunks). DD7 just got a fairy throw blanket that she wants on her bed, so we'll get another one like it. Give me your ideas... and hopefully this won't break the bank!

I have a similar situation. I made my DD's room into a Mickey Mouse mecca, which she LOVED .. until she "met" Tinkerbell (via a DVD! ) back when the movie came out. Now she wants a Tinkerbell room. My DH and I agreed that we would NOT be going overboard like we did the last time (I hand painted a mural on her wall and now I have to paint over it! If you want to see, click on my PTR, I think the pic is on the first page) She needs a new bed anyway since she's outgrowing her toddler bed, so might as well work the new decor around the new bed.

Anyway, her walls are yellow, so I think we're sticking with that. But we're going to make sure that the Tinkerbell stuff is all stuff we can take down easily and the rest (paint, curtains, etc) will last her throughout her kid/preteen years. Hopefully she won't ask for another room redo until she hits her teen years!

Get a leafy garland at a craft store (Michaels or Hobby Lobby, etc.) Get a cheap string of clear lights and weave the two together, so you get the pixie lights effect like they have in the trees in Downtown Disney. You can then use it to accent above the window by winding it around your curtain rod, or wind it around the bed posts or hang above a door or something. Looks really cool! Also, a sheer curtain in a green creates a really nice "Pixie Hollow" effect, for around $10, can be found at Walmart or Target. There are some really cute Pixie Hollow Fairy prints at art.com for a few dollars as well.

I have a Cricut (scrapbooking machine) that cuts out images in paper or vinyl - kind of like those "Wall Words" that you can buy. I can cut out any image or font found online. If I can be of help, please let me know.

use scene setters from party city or shindigz. party city online has the castle, palm trees, and fairy like fields for $5-$25
