We will be traveling with a party of 8 adults this July. Six of us currently have our tickets, still waiting for two more. Is it important for us to make park reservations as one party of eight? Or could six of us make reservations now, and the remaining two add on once they get their tickets? Would this affect getting boarding passes in HS if we weren't all on the same park reservation? Should I even be concerned about making reservations now for July? We've been to wdw many times but this is our first trip since covid so I'm trying to navigate all the new procedures as best as I can!

Up until now, parks haven't been "selling out" until a week or two ahead of time, but with things starting to open up I'd be nervous that we're about to see a huge spike in demand before we see a corresponding increase in capacity. Tell the two slackers to get on it.

I just went in this morning to make park reservations for a party of 6 and I was required to break it up as a party of 4 and a party of 2. So I don't think you can do 8 at a time anyway. Go ahead and do a party of 4, party of 2, then when the others join do another party of 2. I'm not going until August but it seems Studios reservations go before the other parks do so figured might as well do it now and not risk missing out by putting it off. but the whole summer is wide open as far as reservations.

Thank you both. Since it sounds like I will need to break it up anyway, I think I'll just go ahead and make the reservations and have the remaining two choose the same dates when they get their tickets.

I recently made park reservations for a party of 9 with no problems whatsoever. I would go ahead and make park reservations for the 6 that have tickets. The other 2 shouldn’t have any problems matching your park reservations. Have fun!

How you group your party for park passes has no bearing on booking ROTR. For ROTR you need to make sure all eight are showing as friends and family on your MDE account so they can all be selected at one time. We usually have a mix of park passes, between resort guests and AP holders using two different pools of park passes, but when trying for ROTR, we can select all of us at once.
