Ok, so I am in the process of making a flatty and I need some advice.

I want my flatty to wear a couple of different outfits. How does one go about changing the outfit? Should I laminate each outfit separately?

How do I then attach the outfit to the flatty?

Thanks for the help!

I have to admit, Brandie made my flatties. She laminated the people with their shoes on and their clothes seperately. I just used clear tape to change their clothes.

Yeah...what she said...:thumbsup2

Are you using a Cricut machine for them?

You could also try Velcro, create a body and make a bunch of different outfits.

I tried velcro for mine but the "clothes" would stick up too far off of the body. It just looked weird to me...but I guess it depends on how you're making them and what kind of velcro that you use...

If you don't have a laminating machine, how did you get the flattie laminated? Sorry if this sounds silly, have not got a crafty gene in my body.

I borrowed one from my Mom...but you could take them to any Kinko's or maybe even Office Depot or Staples to do it...I tried to use the self laminating pouch thingies that seal up without the use of a machine, but those didn't seem to adhere well enough.

Try Kinko's, Office Depot, or Staples! :thumbsup2

Yeah I could see that, I suppose tape is just as good and it protrudes less.

Thanks guys!! I think I will stick with tape, no pun intended. I do my laminating at Kinko's. I don't have a Cricut, I have to use scissors.....Boo!

I was just looking at cricuts on the net. Trying to decide if I need the expressions or if the personal will be just fine. Already planning ahead for Christmas. :rotfl:

I bought a laminating maching (3M I think) at Sam's for like $29 and can't believe I ever lived without it!!!! In fact I had to put the machine away because I kept trying to laminate everything I could see.

My Flattie?

It is coming with me to Indy ;)
Well nevermind then... I was going to offer to cut the pieces out for you on my cricut and give them to you next weekend...but nevermind! :rotfl:

Tonya, I NEED to get a laminating machine. Mom's is just a small one and can't do sheets larger than 8 1/2 x 11...but it did the job for me when I needed it! I laminated all of the magnets I made for PCC 1.0 as well as my flatties. I could totally relate to your laminating issues...I'd have to hide mine (if I had one) too! Matthew would come home to find the dogs laminated or something...:lmao:

Thanks for the offer!!

How exactly does a cricut work? Does it just automatically see the negative space and cuts it out?
