Today my countdown has reached 40 days which means from tomorrow, not only will I be saying "I'm going to Florida next month" but my countdown will also be in the 30's. Having started at 429 days I'm sure you can imagine how much this means!
The last couple of months have been hard as DH left his job in the middle of May - he has had a short term contract and lots of interviews since but nothing permanent. It took the edge off my excitement for a while but now, despite all of that happening in the background, I find the excitement building.
So tonight I wrote my 'to do' list
shoes for children and DH (I'm sorted!)
Universal tickets
clothes for me (everyone else is sorted)
dollars/TC's/Fairfx card
itinerary finalisation
get myself a card on DH's Post Office cc account (forms arrived today)
DH had a couple of promising job interviews today so finger's crossed that situation will also be sorted (favourite word at the moment) before we go.
At work yesterday (a supermarket) I was in the cash office and they decided to have a sort through the huge box of foreign coins. For a donation of a couple of £'s to charity I walked away with a large bag of change and also a couple of dollar bills. Pity I wasn't heading out to Canada, there were more Canadian dollars than anything else!
Once I've finished our itinerary I shall write a pre-trip report.
Not sure why I'm telling you all this, perhaps I just need to share my excitement!
