Making dinner reservations...What option is better?

So we are coming up on the date that we can make dinner reservations. I am working on our schedule so that I know what reservations I need to make.

Here is my question....I am booked through DU, and I adore them. I understand that they can make my dining reservations, but am I better off letting them know what I want and letting them do it, or booking myself? If I book myself, am I better off trying on-line or calling?

In the past, I have called, but my day falls on a Monday morning and I am a bit worried about getting my reservations and getting my daughter ready for school at the same time. However, I want to do whatever will give me the best chance of getting what I want so I will work around it, if I need to!

shmoogrrrl - thanks fo tasking this. I've been wondering the same myself. Can't wait to see the answers! :goodvibes

We made ours all online this year and it was easy and fast!! We use Smallworld vacations and usually let them do it, but decided to do it myself this year, even though we booked our vacation through them.

I've read threads on this topic in the past and booked for my own trip and I would definitely make my own reservations. If you ask your TA and he or she doesn't get everything you want then you're sure to regret it. What if he or she is sick on your 180th day? What if he or she has other clients to book for? Not highly likely but possible. If I make my own then I know I'm the top priority. And if he or she makes them and you want to make changes you won't immediately have access to the reservation numbers. You could probably get them after some amount of time but it's a minor hassle at best.

Booking for online ADRs starts at 6:00 am EST so you can be online an hour before the phones open. If you need to make last minute decisions based on availability then you're much better equipped to make those determinations than a TA.

For a 7 day trip with 9 people, I booked 18 meals in about 30 minutes so you should be able to finish and still get your daughter off to school. If you're not staying onsite then it's just one day at a time but still easily accomplished.

Good Luck!

I made our reservations after the 180 day mark - and got everything I wanted.
I think if you have a general idea of what you want to do you should be okay.

I did all of my reservations online - Last year I had to call for the Luau and for HDDR.
