Making dining reservations without having a resort reservation

We're considering a trip this September. If we don't have it booked by the time our ADR date would be, I know I can still make ADRs (minus the +10) but once we do book will those ADRs link with my resort reservation? Or does it even matter?

Doesn't matter a bit. Even when you use your resort reservation confirmation to get the +10, your resort reservation and dining reservation aren't "linked". Both types of reservations will appear in your MDE account, but they're actually independent of one another.
