Okay folks, I need some help as the time to make my first DVC reservations approaches. (And I've asked this question before but it didn't sink in!) How does one go about making reservations one day at a time? Do you start with the day you want to arrive and 'pretend' it is the day you are leaving? Isn't it the rule that you can't make reservations until 11/7 months from your departure date, depending on home resort rules? When you call to add the next day, do you tell them it is another day to a reservatio already made. You would think they would let folks make reservations from arrival date instead of departure date. Really don't want to have to move during vacation, even if they do everything.
Any assistance anyone can give me would be appreciated.

You have the basic idea right. example:
If your first day is 1/1 for check in, call 2/2 to reserve. On 2/3 call for 1/2 etc. Be sure to ask MS to link the reservations so you get one confirmation when you are done.

When you make a reservation for your first day tell the CM you'll be calling back to add more days. They'll make a note on your reservation and won't send a confirmation until you've finished calling. When you call back the next day you can simply say you'd like to add a day to your existing reservation. Your confirmation number will stay the same since you're only modifying your orginal reservation.

We've reserved a 2 bedroom and a studio for the week after Thanksgiving which meant I had to start calling on December 26th. It took a few hours to get through (I felt like a kid calling to get concert tickets -- redial, redial, redial ;) ). I finally gave up and started calling about once every half hour. When I did finally get through it was almost noon but I didn't have any problems getting a standard view for both reservations.

Good luck :)

just as an aside, once I really wanted to get through to MS and got sick of the busy signal and I didn't really have time to keep trying back, so on a whim I tried the toll number instead of the 800#. It actually got through on the first try... so if you're desperate to get through, try the 407 number (usually I am patient enough to wait for the toll free one but I really needed to get something taken care of and out of my hair!)
