Making Christmas Decoration Help

My DH is deployed, all the family has been asking what to send him. I just sent him a small Christmas tree, he wants everyone to make him a Christmas decoration for the tree.

I'm stumped! I don't know what to make, normally I can come up with something creative, but I can't think of anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have everyone take their picture individually or with their family and then cut them out and glue them on paper ornaments.

If you are near the children, or the children near each other, have them each write down a thank you, something sweet about Christmas, a memory about your husband or something they love about your husband, and form it into a chain that can be unhooked and your husband could undo the chain and read each sweet thought.

Have everyone in the family make up a stocking for your husband and his soldiers. Include some candy, ornament, some socks, a book/dvd or whatever and let them mail them with christmas card.

If the family is around the country/world, have everyone mail postcards of their respective areas especially any landmarks that your husband may know.

You could make a candy wreath and if anyone else in the family is crafty or patient, have them make a candy wreath.

Assign, families certain things if you know they are good at it or something your husband likes. If Aunt Mrytle makes the best divinity ever, ask if she could make a batch to send to him and include a christmas card or even an ornament. The card could be the decoration if no ornament included.

Tina you are the best!

I am doing OK, a little depressed with Thanksgiving coming up and all our family is in NJ. DS and I are going up at Christmas.

My DS is OK, but then he gets upset. His birthday is next month and he keeps asking is Daddy will come home for it, I don't think he gets how far away he is even with showing him on the map and telling him. Plus he has his moments were he gets mad at me for something.

But the webcam and Skype has been working out really well! So we get to see each other and talk.
