Making changes to my cart

After lifting my cart and putting big tires on it I've decided to sell the lift and wheels and tires. I have a side loading toy hauler and it's too much trouble hauling the cart because I have to have the original small tires on it to fit in the trailer. Once I get to the campground I have take the tires off and put the big one's on. It's too much trouble and I'm finally tired of doing it. Probably going to go with the SS black and silver wheels with low pro tires. If you look on the 1st page of the golf cart thread you'll see my tires and rims on Lawnspecialties cart. I got them from him. The lift is a Jakes 6" spindle. If anybody has the tires and wheels I mentioned and wants to trade let me know.

I looked at hauling a trailer behind my 5'er (illiegal but often done) or using a swivelwheel which is legal if mounted permanently I decided to go the easy route. I love the cart lifted and it looks great but too much trouble while trying to enjoy a trip.

Donnie, sucks that you can't keep it lifted :( It looked really good.

I just got done sanding my cart getting ready to shoot the primer. I cut the holes for the light kit, you know when you cut that crap and it sticks to your skin, it won't come off and it keeps burning and burning OUCH!!!!:scared1:

I want to lift this one, but don't have the money right now, but it is gonna look pretty good when I am done. But it is slow.... lol

I was wondering how long it would take you to get tired of that setup. That was a terrific amount of work you had made for yourself. Good luck man, I know this will be much better for you.

One more chapter in the book:sad2: Sorry it didn't work out for you. I tried calling you last week I was wondering what you had decided to do.

Donnie - I'm glad you took off the lift & large tires. Not safe at all. Sheesh - C.J. took a tumble out of their cart & look at the speed "old faithful" obtains???

Haven't sold it yet. I'm gonna throw it on craigslist and if it sells I'll take it off. I like it being lifted but swapping tires every trip get's old. It's really unstable when the small tires are on and going up the ramp can be tricky. I just have the wrong camper to haul a golf cart. PM me your new number. I still have the old one.

Need to paint it Donnie call me i ran across a few cool colors i have from some previous work.

He needs to paint it camo so he can hide in the swamp:thumbsup2

Yeah, I was going like 2 mph. He was hysterically laughing. He wanted to see what would happen if he let go when I made a sharp turn....boys...

Annie asked today if we can sell the camper and get a horse trailer with living quarters. That would surely solve my cart problems lol. I've gotten used to the room we have with a 5'er but we really don't stay in it a lot. I hate to say it, but a horse trailer would triple as a toy hauler, camper and of course haul her horse. Hmmmmm. I definately will go with all aluminum if I change.

On another note, How do I go back to no lift on such a cool cart lol.

Instead of UN lifting the cart make the top removable. Cut the top arms add sleeves and release pins. I am sure tungpo1 can do it. If not I will show you how at the GG. I have seen this done on a cart that was carried in the basement of a big Prevost Motor Home, I helped him put the top on. We were done in 45 seconds.

His problem is the width of the bigger tires. He can't fit through the door.

Well, I wouldn't want to do that either every stinkin' trip either but you CANNOT put low profile tires and crap on yours as I already told you that was my plan this time. I already went the lifted route so unfortunately, you have to keep the lifted look on yours and deal with it!:thumbsup2:rolleyes1

Charlie Crist has lifted the water restrictions here in FL, maybe you should consider washing the cart.
