My first drafts are too wordy. I dunno how to keep it to a minimum.

Potential things to put on them:
  • Name of my service
  • My name
  • Qualifications
  • eMail
  • Web Site
  • Phone number
  • Maybe even a nice picture for one side?
I won't be practicing for a little while yet, I'm just preparing myself for when I do.

Are your qualifications listed as initials after your name, or are you talking about a list of qualifications? I assume your qualifications are well documented on your website, so you can minimize them on the business card. You could also leave your email off, and have it prominently on your website as a Contact Me or Schedule Appointment page. If it still looks too busy, try leaving the photograph off for now, and just allow them to look sleek and professional. Or put the photo or your logo on the back, and the text on the front.

If you can do mock ups of a few different designs, have your friends take a look at the samples and vote on which one looks the most professional to them.

The qualifications would be post-nominal letters. Most practitioners would have one, such as Dip. Hyp. but I've done a lot of learning in the last few years and have several letters, which would reassure a client. Or do I miss them out and just put them on pamphlets and on the website?

I would limit yourself to one line of text across the card, with your name and the most prestigious post-nominal letters. If you have more than will fit on one line of text, include the extras on your website.

Are you building from scratch or using a template?

I did recruiting cards for DS, had the following:
Picture
Name
HS Grad Class
Position
Height
Weight
Website
QR Code (for the website)

You should be able to fit all, or most of what listed. Play with font sizes & positioning.

Front of the card:
Right or left block - business name w/logo
Right or left block - name, email, phone
Back of card website and certification logos

Use quality stock and colors. If doing an edge to edge color pay for a full bleed.

Set up an ecard in your phone to tap and share with others as there will be people who won’t want a traditional card

The main purpose of a business card should be to get people to contact you for whatever service/business you are running. It shouldn't be a resume, but phone/email contact along with the nature of the business. Most likely you hand them out at some sort of trade show or give them to perspective customers.

If you have a website, then you can include a QR code on the card. Some people like using those others find that annoying so be sure to include other more traditional ways to contact you.

Too funny about bots...............like someone is going to decide to use one landscape company over another because of how their business card looks...........LOL
