Making ADRs once we arrive?

I know. . .I know. . .it's not the best option; however, since we will be attending a conference I am not exactly sure what our schedule will be when we arrive at Disney.

My question is, how hard do you think it will be to get 1 or 2 ADRs while we are there? I am not trying to go anywhere extremely popular (i.e. Le Cellier), but I would like to go somewhere decent. My assumption is some of the restaurants in the resorts may not be as hard to get ADRs for, but I know there is no guarantee.

There will be four of us staying at the Contemporary. Do you have any suggestions as to where we may be able to try and get reservations after we arrive and determine our schedule?

Thanks in advance for your help!

HI....we (my dd and I) will be there in two weeks too!!!! I did not purchase the dining plan and hoping to make ADRs too (either by calling SOON) or once we get there.....hoping for cancellations.....I tried to get ressies for Luau at the Poly....but no such luck....I'll try again (maybe cancellations) I've researched on allears.net and picked a few that hopefully we will be able to get in to.....(maybe at odd hours)

BTW, we are staying at CBR.....only decided on this trip about two weeks ago, so it was a very rushed planning!!:yay:

Just stop by the concierge desk in the lobby of the Contemporary and ask the person to help you find a few places for dinner that week. They can just look them up on the computer and make suggestions.

We've done that before and never had a problem. And honestly, I think all places on property are "decent" even if they aren't as popular. Location usually has more to do with popularity than the food itself, IMO.

You should probably be fine. You might not be able to get your first pick restaurant at your first pick time, but you'll probably be able to get in somewhere.

Ex. My family went to Disney with my brother's school band last New Years. (2006-2007) Anyways, my parents went to Guest Relations during our trip and got us ADRs for the first Garden Grill seating of New Years Day. This was a couple days notice, during the busiest season of the year for a group of 8. Granted, people were probably leaving and/or sleeping in that morning, but we got one. I have no idea what our other options were...

Anyways, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You'll be able to eat somewhere. Just make sure you go to concierge as soon as you determine your schedule, and they should be able to give you some options.
